Marshall Space Flight Center

Marshall Space Flight Center manages key programs involving the space shuttle, the International Space Station, Payload Operation Center, space science, future moon and Mars missions and Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles. Marshall’s key role in space science, aeronautics and exploration complements local Army and Department of Defense research and provides greater strengths for aerospace technology development success.

The Marshall Space Flight Center, located on Redstone Arsenal, is one of NASA’s largest and most important field centers. More than 8,600 workers (2,600 civil service employees and 6,000 employees of contractors) are employed here.
