Jurors Statement

This was an exciting and challenging show to jury. The range of works entered spoke well for the talent in this Central Ohio area. As jurors our thought was to select what we considered to be the strongest of the pieces submitted. Imagination and exploration–outside the box–was what drew us to the pieces selected. Strong color and composition were also considerations. We encourage those who were not selected to remember this is just the opinion these two jurors, and next year’s jurors may be looking for different elements. Just keep on painting!

Welcome to the 2014 Bryn Du Art Exhibition A Juried Selection of Art from Central Ohio Artists From the BRYN DU ART COMMITTEE

his has been a rewarding experience for us. This revised version of the Annual Bryn Du Art Exhibition has been met with enthusiasm from so many artists! The submissions of strong pieces of art, in all media and styles, were a group we were

proud to offer the Jurors. We owe the participating artists a big “thank you!” for making this year’s show especially remarkable. And of course the hard working jurors for pouring over the entries and sticking to their mission! We had invaluable help and amazing support of the Bryn Du Mansion, Bruce Cramer and Athena Koehler; a great partner in Rob *H[OJHY[^OVZL^LIHUKKH[HL_WLY[PZL^HZRL`"ÄZJHSHUKTVYHSZ\WWVY[MYVT:[L]L:[PS^LSSHUK[OL=PSSHNLVM.YHU]PSSLHUKV\Y exhibit installation cheerfully done by Maggie Sobataka, Liesha Hurwitz, Anna Rosenfeld – with all those people helping us, this couldn’t have been a better experience. We also thank the Granville Arts Commission for granting us the award prize money – a nice way to support the arts in our area. Next year the Bryn Du Art Show will be March 19 - March 28, 2015 - Put it on your calendar NOW! Share the date with your friends, it can only get more interesting and beautiful every year. AND THANK YOU very much for your participation, your support of local art and your continued interest! Laurie MacKenzie-Crane and Amy Mock
