Since joining Stradbroke Primary Academy I have been delighted with the rapid progress we have been able to achieve on our journey to becoming an outstanding school.

Our progress has been both in academic success and in the exciting improvements to the daily experience of every pupil in the school.

We have one goal: to give your child the highest standard of education and ensure they leave as well-rounded, independent learners ready to flourish at secondary school. We will support them in setting high expectations for their future and develop their approach to learning to ensure it is aspirational and leads to academic success.

All staff go the extra mile to ensure every pupil feels safe, happy, and excited to develop a real love of learning which will stay with them for life. Our Student Council plays a key role in decisionmaking and we take their views seriously. They have been at the heart of the vision we cocreated with all stakeholders.

Our innovative extended school day programme provides activities for all our older pupils with exciting activities on offer covering a range of sporting, musical, and cultural themes.

We are always delighted to meet parents for a tour of the academy and to see our fabulous pupils at work; please contact the school office to make an appointment.

Our mission is for Stradbroke Primary Academy to be a centre of excellence, sharing and fostering best practices across the Trust and beyond. We aim to do this by focusing on the highest standards of teaching and learning and developing practitioners at all levels to create an exceptional educational offer.

Wherever possible we will provide inspirational and enriching experiences and promote a love of learning.

Every school day counts, and is an opportunity to learn something new and important. Coming to school every day is an important part of giving pupils the best possible start in life and broadening their horizons.

Supporting Pupils at Every Stage

Here at Stradbroke Primary Academy we recognise that moving into primary school comes with its own set of changes and challenges. In order to support our pupils each stage of the transition process is carefully thought out and children are well prepared for this.

At Stradbroke Primary Academy, we offer tailored transition to cohorts so pupils are comfortable and feel prepared for their next step in education.

In the past we have offered: Stay and play sessions where new starters can see their future classroom and visit their teachers ahead of joining the school

Visits to local nurseries in order for teachers to introduce themselves, and give an insight into what transitioning into primary school is like for both pupils and parents

Tours for prospective parents and pupils from staff to explore the school environment during the day

Home visits from reception staff if necessary to ensure that new starters are comfortable in what to expect of their new school and routine

Half days for the first few weeks of term in order to make the transition into primary school more smooth.

Pastoral Care and Safeguarding

Safeguarding is our highest priority at Stradbroke Primary Academy and it is everyone’s responsibility within our school to ensure our pupils are happy, healthy, and safe.

“It was a pleasure as always to work with Stradbroke and your pupils. I’m always amazed by the diversity of characters and personalities that appear when we start filming. Their confidence is fantastic and makes me wonder where the future will take them.

Visitor

The emotional wellbeing of our pupils is always at the front of our minds and we know how important it is to nurture our pupils’ mental health in order to help them achieve academically. Therefore we help our pupils learn how to identify and name their emotions as well as ensure we check in regularly with them.

At our academy, we promote a culture that encourages children to talk to the adults in our school and to let them know if they are upset or have any worries so that we can support them and help to make things better.

Each and every one of our staff knows how important it is to listen and to give our pupils the time and space to talk.
