DANISH MARITIME DAYS BACK IN 2018 17 stakeholders from all parts of The Blue Denmark participated in the first platform meeting regarding the next Danish Maritime Days - which will take place on May 1 - 4 May 2018. The platform meeting was hosted by Danish Maritime in Copenhagen.
-It will be a somewhat different version of the Danish Maritime Days we will experience in May next year, said Cecilie Lykkegaard, Deputy Director of Danske Maritime, and Project Manager for the Danish Maritime Days 2018. - The Danish Maritime Forum has become the Global Maritime Forum, and is no longer part of the Danish Maritime Days. Of course, that will make a difference, said Cecilie Lykkegaard. The three partners behind the Danish Maritime Days: Danish Maritime, Danish Shipping and the Danish Maritime Authority, however believe, that the Danish Maritime Days concept - with or without the Forum - is strong enough to carry on.
GREAT INTEREST Quite a number of stakeholders indicated, that they want to contribute with events during the next edition of the Danish Maritime Days. Most events are still at a very early stage, but the submissions indicate that the Danish Maritime Days 2018 will be very comprehensive. DANISH MARITIME FAIR It is assumed that the Danish Maritime Fair will be the largest of the events that will take place during the Danish Maritime Days. Therefore, the Media Group Maritime Denmark, which owns the Danish Maritime Fair, was present to inform about the plans for the Danish Maritime Fair - including the possibility of completing Danish Maritime Days events at LokomotivvĂŚrkstedet, the exhibition hall
in Copenhagen where the Danish Maritime Fair will take place again next year. - We will be happy to host as many Danish Maritime Days events as possible at LokomotivvĂŚrkstedet, says Martin Uhlenfeldt, Partner at the Media Group Maritime Denmark. - A greater coherence between the individual events has been frequently wished for, at the first three editions of the Danish Maritime Days, says Martin Uhlenfeldt - Not to limit the plurality of events, but to make it easier for participants to get from one arrangement to another. EVERY TWO YEARS It is the intention that the Danish Maritime Days going forward, will be held every two years, and its planning will rotate between the three partners.
