Oishii is Japanese for ‘delicious ‘ or ‘good tasting.’ The quality of the food is the primary concerns of these clients first priority, however they want the space in which they are enjoying food to be beautiful, modern, and interesting. Seating space should be limited to evoke a personal and exclusive feel. The clients want a space that evokes Japanese culture in a new and interesting way without overpowering the customers experience of their highly rated cuisine.

The Client, GRAPHIX, an up and coming graphic design firm, recently leased a new office in a major city. As young designers, the people who will be using the space all have a serious eye for aesthetics. They need a workspace that is visually interesting and emulates a clean contemporary feeling. This is a fast paced industry in a fast paced city and the clients would like to emulate that in the design, the end result should be one that breeds creative ideas and the exchange of those ideas. This small company needs a space that they can grow and evolve in for years to come

It is a designer’s responsibility to strive for products that are made in a innovative, responsible way. There is something extremely special about an item being reborn after its intended useful life. We must also educate our clients and each other to use safe, sustainable products and practices. Any item that is saved from the landfill counts as a tiny victory.

Our Clients, Leah Jensen and Kandice Olsen cousins and best friends have devised a solid business plan for their new bakery CONFECTION [obsession] . They immediately fell in love with the building, built in the 1800s they want to give a fresh face to the space while maintaining the historical integrity of the structure. This is a primarily residential area and as such it is imperative this space be welcomed and well loved by the surrounding community, all ingredients will come from locally sourced organic farms, or grown on site, in addition they would like as much of the dĂŠcor as possible to be purchased or commissioned by local artisans. Kandice and Leah are both progressive ecologically minded individuals and would like their values to transcend the final product. Thus, they would prefer all interior finishes furnishings to be reclaimed or sustainably produced and entirely safe for the end user, their customer base. They want a final product that they can be proud of in both an aesthetic and environmentally responsible way, and to become a great working example of sustainable business practices for the community.
