Penny’s Updates Our New Budgeted year began on July 1, 2013! With it came a busy summer, an increase in procedures, the implementation of Surginet, hiring new staff, two full-time Nurse Educators and many new changes within our All Children’s Johns Hopkins Administration. A BIG WELCOME TO OUR NEW EMPLOYEES! Joining the PreOp and PACU are: Toby Jobson and Mary Hirdhani RN joined the PreOp/PACU staff. Joining the OR Staff are: Maritza Correa Santana RN, Angie Castano RN, Linnea Stewart RN, Greg Telegdy HUC and Denise Glass are the newest additions to the OR. Also, we have 2 new RN residents in the Operating Room, Cindy Cook and Jessica Johnson. We are so happy you are here and glad you chose us.
We have two new educators! Cindy Stovall RN was promoted and is now the PreOp and PACU educator. Marisa Tapia RN, MSN, MA is the new OR and SPU educator who has brought us a1 wealth ! of perioperative education experience.
Keith Franquiero was not only nominated to represent ACH as the Shining Star but became the FINALIST and won the prestigious Johns Hopkins Shining Star award as the TOP NURSE in the Johns Hopkins Family! Congratulations Keith! You have made us proud!

Save the Date: November 2013 Dr. Danielson and I will be presenting to the staff, surgeons and anesthesia department the overview and results of our Safety Culture Reports. We will be forming teams to work on those areas identified in these reports. The teams will include representatives from the staff, surgeons, anesthesia and management. Dr. Colombani and Hella Ewing will be our Executive Leaders.
