DEBEG 6301 VHF Radiotelephone The VHF DEBEG 6301 is the new generation of VHF equipment - developed for the professional sailor. Any ship has to be able to communicate directly without problems or delay. The DEBEG 6301 links safety and distress communication with convenient telephony - all operated from a single easy-to-use handset. In this way you have easy and reliable communication with any vessel in your area. In areas where coast stations offer the service, digital selective telephony will also be available - just as from a regular telephone. The DEBEG 6301 is available as A1 BASIC or A1 DSC version. A full range of maritime communication equipment designed to increase safety and ease communication for all kinds of vessels from pleasure boats and fishing vessels to cargo ships and cruise liners. The main features of the DEBEG 6301 in which the basic configuration consists of a transceiver and a handset - are: ■

Easy to operate

The DEBEG 6301 has been developed from the experience gained through decades. Therefore it provides you with the easiest of operations. ■

Multi-channel dual receiver system

The multichannel dual receiver system gives you extra security. By means of the two independent receivers, you are always able to stay in touch with distress channel 70. ■

Automatic public call facilities

DEBEG 6301 is your way to automatic public call, as easy as from an ordinary telephone. ■

Programmable scanning

Due to the programmable scanning facilities, you can save channels of your own choice in a scanning sequence. ■

Distress call

The A1 DSC is your secure and reliable way to make a distress call - all in one

button. The system transmits the ships identity code, and specifies the position and the time of the call. You also have the possibility of a more detailed distress message of your own choice if time allows. ■


The system works as an on-board intercom - allowing you to communicate between two or more handsets. This is a facility of great convenience on board large vessels. ■

NMEA navigator interface

The NMEA interface connects the VHF system to the on-board navigational equipment, thus automatically updating the system with the present position. A function of great importance when sending a distress call. ■


Flexibility is a keyword for DEBEG 6301, as you can install the VHF transceiver where you like - leaving only the handset visible. The system can be mounted with more than one handset. The maximum distance between the transceiver

unit and the handset control unit or units is up to 40 m in 12 VDC installations and up to 80 m in 24 VDC installations. ■

Functional design

A compact transceiver. A splash-proof handset with an alphanumeric LCD display and built-in speaker. Safety and distress communication and VHF telephony functions gathered in one system. These are a few of the features emphasizing the functional design of DEBEG 6301. ■

12 or 24 VDC

The nominal system power supply is 12 VDC. Other power solutions are AC mains or 24 VDC battery with optional rectifier or DC/DC converter respectively. ■

Much more than required

The system conforms to all relevant ETSI, IEC, ITU and IMO requirements and resolutions. Furthermore it more than satisfies the international requirements to Class D(*) DSC equipment. *) Class D equipment is intended to provide facilities for VHF DSC distress, urgency and safety as well as routine calling and reception, and as such offers the key benefits of DSC in a form that is suitable for the pleasure market.

System configurations


The A1 VHF DEBEG 6301(D) includes in a basic configuration a transceiver unit and a control handset. The units are connected by means of the SPARC bus interface. This advanced balanced data and AF interface can be used to interconnect multiple control units as well as exterior computer based control/programming options. The maximum distance between transceiver unit and control handset may be up to 40 m in 12 VDC installations, in 24 VDC installations up to 80 m.

The DEBEG 6301 is also available for the use on inland waterways as DEBEG 6401 with integrated ATIS. An external loudspeaker may be connected directly to the control handset holder. Alternatively the dual AF output channels on the transceiver unit can be used. These terminals may be configured for split level control, to follow two different handset control units.

The nominal system power supply is 12 VDC. By means of a DEBEG N163S and DEBEG N420 the system can be powered from the AC mains or 24 VDC battery. A standard NMEA interface for connection to on-board navigational equipment is available in the transceiver option connector.
