Total sail area : 20.60m² Main sail area : 12.70 m² Jib sail area : 7.10, pivoting mast 0.80. Asymmetrical spinnaker : + 24 m² .

This new boat is made in the same spirit as it's big brother, the Open 5.70. Easy to handle, gliding, fast. The architect's and connector's goal was to present a product even easier to sail and handle, on a tighter budget, and with a program orientated towards simply gliding (very easy to beach), just cruising around, or meeting in pleasant surroundings for festivals and such. This new series benefits from the dynamic Association, (Asopen) right from its birth. The Open 570 : www. open570.org now enlarges its support to cover both boats ( new site : www.open500.org). The objective being to united those who wish to sail together on a monotype without the problems of budget, crew, assembly, water depth or port anchorage. 1 RUE PENNEVERT - ZI DES SOEURS EST - 17300 ROCHEFORT

The Open 5,70 is meant for sailors who have experienced fun surfing on small dinghies or catamarans and want to find once again the same sensations on a small, safe, sport keelboat. Small, simple and well designed, the Open 5,70 cannot capsize and is unsinkable. An asymmetrical spinnaker, easy to handle, drives the boat downwind and may safely reach high speeds (up to 18 knots). Constraints have been reduced to the minimum. Hoisting the mast and launching the boat can be done by yourself. Whether you want to drive to a regatta or simply cruise for a weekend, its format within the legal trailering size will allow you to tow it easily. The owner association named ASOPEN www.open570.org is very dynamical and organises numerous events (championships, regatta, long distance courses, and others‌) allowing people to meet and enjoy fair sport and fun times.

MAJOR ARTICLE : ALL THAT IS NOT AUTHORISED IS FORBIDDEN.

The architect's point of view

“With the Open 5.70: it is sailing brought down to the essential. Hull, rig and keel. The large cockpit allows easy handling and movement. The hull bottom takes into account the displacements so that it glides. It very well equilibrated and even tolerates slight clumsiness. The three point rig - one forestay and two shrouds - is simple and pivots for better performance.”

The architect's point of view “Whilst respecting the bottom of the hull of the original Optimist with which young sailors have won numerous titles, we created some 10 years ago, a new model, more accommodating and safer. Hundreds of this model are currently sailing in sailing schools proving the success of this boat“.
