FOCUS In this trend, the material world comes into sharp focus, as a reaction to virtual living. This is not to say that we are turning our backs on technology, but that we are using it as a means to connect to our surroundings. The objects associated with this trend encourage contemplation, emotional response and connect us to a specific environment. Looking deep, focusing on the moment and a sense of humanism form the basis of this direction. Digital print is designed  on  an idea how to capture fog in the nature. This print is used on both clothing items. Photo: Madis Lempu Model: Tasha Viets Van Laar MUAH: Danna Eeskivi

Knitwear collection is inspired by experiments with the knitting machine and different type of yarns. I experimented a lot just to understand what I can really create with those machines. The colors of this collection go together with the outerwear course, where I was inspired by the bold color combinations, inventive stitches and patterns in Mexican textiles and Folk Art.  Photo: Gregor Jürna MUAH: Maret Ubaleht MODEL: Liis Lemsalu

COAT OUTERWEAR PROJECT TUTORS: MARVE RULL, AILI AAMISEPP BA III VOLUME 03 • ISSUE NO. 10

Outerwear collection is inspired by the girl gangs, who create trends. They love details, special material and color combinations. And of course they want to be unique. Color scheme is inspired by Mexican icon, Frida Kahlo, a famous 20th century painter known for using bold and vivid colors in her art work. In this collection the main focus is on pink and green colors. In Mexican Culture green and pink color are considered as cool colors, that stand out in stark contrast to their warm counterparts. Green is symbolizing hope and pink is considered as an element of national identity and symbol of Mexican charisma. Photo: Anu Rieberg MUAH: Maret Ubaleht Model: Kertu Kivisik

COUTURE

After my second year in Estonian Academy of Arts I did an internship in Amsterdan at Iris van Herpen studio. During these seven months I was the only one who could do ready-to wear and couture in the same time. While I was in Paris Fashion Week  I was sewing clothes for the SS15 Magnetic Motion and Fall/Winter 2015-16 collections. Meanwhile in the internship I worked together with Canadian Architect Philip Beesley, who has spent years blurring the lines between nature and technology. From him I learnt different techniques what to use while I was sewing my very first Couture dress. In addition to sewing I was in fitting team with Karl Lagerfeld and I had a chance to assist two lookbook shootings for Iris van Herpen.

“LEg GOdt” formed from the Danish words means “play well” and “I put together.” My story is about squad girls who try to put together their own paths through different cultures and eras. It is a story of duplicity where people “play well” cool act around others. Collection color scheme is a combination of 70-s roller skate disco and Mexican culture and folk art. In this collection the main focus is on surface design. There are handmoulded lego shapes in real and fake leather, It took me about five months to develop this unique and effective technique. In addition to 3D surface design there are used hand cut lego shapes in glitter leather, hand stitched 422 lego men on bomber jacket and machine knitted roll-neck jumpers and skirts. All the garments, shoes, bags and knitwear are made me.  Materials: Real leather, fake leather, fake fur, viscose linings and different yarns for knitwear. MARILIIS NIINE| ISSUE  NO. 7

CUSTOM MADE NIKE AIR FORCE In celebration of NIKE AIR FORCE turning 35 years old this year, NIKE Baltics chose me to redesign one pair of these sneakers for NIKE Baltic brand face. This pair of fresh Nikes belong to famous Estonian singer called Liis Lemsalu. Inspired by Liis Lemsalu's new album cover +1, I painted white Air Forces into nude color. Hand stitched and embroidered through the stiff leather.
