Located in a residential neighborhood, the project arises from the demand of a couple in their second marriage, being necessary to house two girls and one boy - the children of the previous union of each one - and a future son to be adopted by both, as well as a plastic arts atelier for a artisan mother and a small office for civil engineering father. The intending to unite the two families and provide privacy resulted in this residence, with continuous social area on the lower floor, joining living room, kitchen and dining room, with the existence of a glass door separating the barbecue area with the internal social area of the house , creating continuity. On the lower floor there are also the work spaces: the studio (with independent entrance) and office in front of the house, maintaining the privacy of the residents if it is necessary to receive professional visits. The intimate area of t he residence is located on the upper floor, with a master suite for the couple, a shared bedroom and bathroom for the sisters, a bedroom for the child and another for the future baby, another bathroom and an intimate room.

The volumetry of the house presents itself without large openings directly to the street, providing more privacy for this new family, only with the entrance doors of the residence. The volumes are aggregated by social, work and intimate area, with the coverage of the main volume, which houses the social area and part of the intimately sloped area, including its water box, lined with material similar to the facade.

The project consisted in the proposal of four public facilities (a cultural center, a community garden, a sports field and a vocational center, all with the same architectural language) in a housing complex of the city, located in the north, approximately 7km from its center . In a neighborhood of extremes, with very open houses without enclosures and houses with gates completely closed, and many similar residences and no other use, the public equipments were designed in a way that united the internal and external spaces, through the visual and spatial permeability, acquired through an “wrapping shell”. The buildings were designed in soil-cement brick and the shell made of slender slanted steel bars, as a way to house the building. Lightweight coverage on space trellis and sandwich roof tile is high from building blocks in soil-cement, and is tilted. After discussing the concept and materiality, each member of the group was responsible for an equipment, in which I developed the sports one. Centrally located in the neighborhood, the proposed sports equipment is inserted in the axis of the main avenue. The building is divided into two levels, following the natural slope of the terrain. The front plateau to the avenue is divided

into four independent building blocks: two rooms (for dance, wrestling classes and activities for the elderly), a block of services and a small kitchen with a large living area open in its surroundings, with benches, tables, visual for court and for the skate lane. The original terrain was used using sloping contours for the construction of a grandstand that surrounds two sides of the building, serving as accessible ramp, support for the court and skate lane, designed model pool riding, grounded in the terrain without hindering the appearance of the east side and the insolation in the building.

The architecture and urbanism project is based on the assumption that we should use social housing models that are present in Brazilian culture, qualifying it in a way that creates a neighborhood with quality of life for its residents, who the different types of people and families, taking into account their needs and / or desires. With its guidelines we have the layout, designed in such a way that the smallest possible number of lanes for cars is placed, giving priority to the pedestrian, with the design based on level contours to minimize inclinations, and predicting the future continuity of the urban network. The blocks have living areas that serve as a meeting point for residents of the neighborhood and have a large green area. The city’s legislation requires a percentage of institutional area and leisure area. The institutional was implanted near the access to the neighborhood, connecting with all the blocks, being close to all the dwellings. The leisure area was integrated with the Permanent Preservation Area of the stream to the north of the neighborhood, promoting an approximation of the inhabitants with the local nature, taking advantage of the existing trees and creating an area of coexistence with overlapping uses.

Three typologies of housing were designed: a house in “superimposed” housing units in the form of a two floors house, and two types of apartment: one with three bedrooms and one with two. All the typologies adopted have the possibility of adaptability for accessibility and flexibility, modifying the rooms according to the particularities of each family.

Mobile stage The project appears as a “parasitic intervention to activate the local context”, in the area of a terrain vague, the Old Railway Station of Presidente Prudente, witch has its rails deactivated. The purpose of this was to think hypotheses to resignify the spaces of the city with their singularities and multiplicities, relying on the collaborative participation of people to provide places for deliberation, experimentation and possibilities. The proposal for this was a one-off intervention: a mobile stage, justified by the proximity of the city’s cultural center and a collective theater, both located in former railroad sheds. The structure arises from a container, which coupled to the rails of the railway line becomes mobile. Its “walls” become floor, with different openings, becomes a place of presentations and permanence.

The 4th edition of Urban21, an urban planning competition held in 2018 by the Arco publishing magazine, had as its theme “Urbanism(‘s) for all”, and as object a preliminary study of urban design for a real area and existing in Brazilian municipality. The work sent by the team was entitled “Crossing: the margins as a connection”, exploring the urban voids of the city starting from the recovery of a tributary of the stream of the Veado, resignifying its margins through the crossing between two voids, providing connectivity to the nearest scale , as well as the urban fabric, which contributes to its cohesion and compactness. Using the activation of voids as a strategy for the continuous connection of the urban network, the project ensures that public and private interests are met, one of the requirements of the public notice. The spatial sharing between housing, work, services, leisure and environmental preservation is given by the occupation of two voids integrated by a park that enables the physical and social connectivity between the sides of the stream, creating a unit of recognition that allows the enjoyment of spaces.

The chosen area is located to the northwest of the city, in the Jardim Maracanã neighborhood, original of 1970 with its first allotment and that in the decade of 1990 received the irregular implantation of a housing set of a governmental program, in the area destined to the leisure of the previous allotment, the venture is still in the regularization phase. The place of intervention is an urban void marked by sloping topography, and by the presence of a canalized stream. The area of the Permanent Preservation Area (APP), for the most part, is without vegetation cover, causing the soil to be exposed and susceptible to erosion and illegal burning. Taking as a basis the guidelines of the Ministry of the Environment for urban river parks APP integrates with an urban park, aiming to recover the vulnerable area without vegetation cover. 18

Urban park design

Section

The Park contributes effectively to the environmental recovery and activation of the latent uses of the urban space, sedaning routes and stays, approaching instead of segregating. On the physical reality of a valley bottom, the paths respectfully look at the topography, generating an organic design, which connects axes and permeates different atmospheres propitiated by the careful choice of vegetation and the arrangement of different activities. Internship In the stage realized during the last three months of 2018 I was responsible for the production of 3D images (of interior environments), detailing of joinery and mobile design. I had the opportunity to design a fireplace and a home bar, and follow the renovation in the house where they were inserted.

The client of this project had the desire to reform her residence, which contained neoclassical elements, and to replace them by contemporaries. Despite the hot weather of the city of Presidente Prudente, keeping the fireplace in the old living room was a wish because of its emotional value. The only requirement of the new fireplace is that it would be made of Roman travertine marble, harmonizing with the new environment and colors of the furniture.

Stages of reform: fireplace’s before and after

home bar For the bar it was decided to keep the same language of the new furniture of the rest of the house: MDF wood in fendi color, with details in reflected glass. The small marble table was already present, lighting and the frame in plaster kept delimiting this space. Nests were created for wine, a glass cabinet with internal lighting and reflective glass, and a small closet, with space for a small refrigerator on the side.
