Shafts of greenhouse design

Collection of rainwater by means of channels to be stored in the cistern

Fans and extractors to force the movement of air inside the greenhouse

Curved shape so that plants can take advantage of the greatest amount of sunlight

Nebulization rings to cool the greenhouse and lower the temperature for the plants

Mesh anti-aphids around the perimeter to allow greater ventilation without the entry of pests and insects

Smoked polycarbonate on top to protect from rain and allow photosynthetically active radiation to reach plants

The project arises from the vision as a workshop to turn Holbox into a self-sufficient island and break with the external dependence the island it has in all aspects. That’s why a hydroponic greenhouse was propposed in order to give inhabitants the Holbox a place where the could produce the greatest amount of food for their consumption. Climatic conditions were the biggest challenge, so the design of the greenhouse module was based six main shafts in order to treat those conditions. Vancouver, Canadá Cultural center | Commerce The project arises from the idea of increasing the existing public areas and the need for a cultural center in the city. This building provides these public spaces to the city without subtracting area form the city. The roof works as a linear park that leads to the highest point in the tower with the best view: the restaurant. The way people can access the tower will depend on their desire and the weather: in winter they can go up through the gallery and trade inside, while in summer, the can reach the top through the cover.
