01 The final touch TYPE: 3D visualization. LOCATION: CĂłrdoba, Argentina. YEAR: 2016/2017 TASKS: Final design details + 3D modeling + rendering + post-production. SOFTWARE: 3ds Max + V-Ray + Photoshop. This group of students contacted me at the final stage of their degree thesis project to finish polishing the general design and develop the 3D images. The Project is located next to a public hospital and consists of a block of rooms destined to house family members of patients being treated at the Hospital; alongside with a restaurant belonging to the same institution. The building is organized in three levels; the ground floor includes administration offices, a small cafĂŠ, a library, a kindergarten, a chapel, and a secondary entrance to the restaurant, located one level down; leaving the upper levels to the rooms. My tasks consisted on designing the interior of the restaurant, and the landscaping proposal, as well as modeling, rendering and editing the final images.
02 Letâ€™s get technical TYPE: Technical drawings. LOCATION: CĂłrdoba, Argentina. YEAR: 2016 TASKS: Construction drawings production + post-production. SOFTWARE: AutoCAD 2D + Photoshop. This project is focused on the technical development, in detail, of a public library. The building was completely designed, therefore my only task was to produce the technical drawings. The library has a double skin facade, creating a constant air ventilation between the layers, This space is wide enough to fit a person, resulting in an extra usable space. This facade is supported by a sheet steel cantilever in each level and the building envelope is composed by perforated steel plates. The building structure consists of an independent modulated reinforced concrete system (7.45mx7.38m), with nervurated slabs.

03 Pushing the boundaries TYPE: Commission-house extension. LOCATION: RĂo Tercero, CĂłrdoba. YEAR: 2014/2015 TASKS: Construction drawing production + technical building management + 3D visualization. SOFTWARE: AutoCAD 2D + SketchUp + 3ds Max + V-Ray + Photoshop. This project was developed when I was working at the Housing Cooperative "Los Robles" as a technical team member. The commission included the house extension (living room) plus a commercial office with a light-patio and a small toilet. The client had a very specific idea about the space composition and aesthetics, which made the communication and the working process really fast and easy going. I delivered the construction documents, 3D images and led the construction management.

How does one learn architecture? What is the role of architects in today’s society? How can we achieve a better education and learning? How can we manage to propose a far-reaching project through an academic work? These were some of the questions that came up while defining the thesis subject. These questions made us re-think the idea of architecture school, not only from the building stand point, but also from the learning-pedagogical side. Re-thinking about the idea of architecture school, led us to look into philosophical concepts, more specifically, to Aristotle and his premise of learning from experience. We took that concept and adapted it to the architectural field and to our School, proposing a series of “walking rooms” capable of moving, mutating, adapting, changing, settling into almost any space where they’re needed, becoming the physical support, allowing to learn from experience.

This project consists on the proposal of an urban “masterplan” for the ex-battalion 141, in a site that had been abandoned and fenced for many years; reigniting the debate regarding the purpose of this space. We proposed a gradient of land use, starting from the most public activities, placed next to Sarmiento Park, to end with with the most private use. The proposal poses a green folded surface that covers about ¾ of the terrain and starts to rise in a progressive way, in order to meet two objectives: to densify above the surface and, through the creation of a landscaped area, return to the city the green spaces initially taken to materialize the project. replenish the green

Emerging from the burrow is an urban scale project that includes a technical school and a park with a very particular implantation on the terrain. The school is located in the historical Güemes neighborhood, on a terrain with a slope of more than 3 meters between the surrounding streets and with a free “block’s heart”. The general approach consists of using that free space, by generating a folded surface that expands through the 4 sides of the block. This surface combines green areas with circulation roads, linking and providing the connectivity from and to the 4 sides of the block. This and the landscaping project complement each other. The park has green areas, resting and recreational spaces, and viewpoints capitalizing the natural slope. It also has an aqueduct's network linking it to the Madriguera School to finally end its path in the historical “cañada” (channeled river). park-school planimetry

07 The caterpillar cocoon TYPE: Workshop. LOCATION: Misiones jungle, Argentina. YEAR: 2012 TASKS: Design process +2D documentation production (with team) Freehand drawings. SOFTWARE: AutoCAD + Photoshop + CorelDRAW. The aim of this 4-days workshop is to re-think about the livable spaces in the jungle landscape of Misiones Province in Argentina. We thought about the nature, the fauna, the environment and overall about the local communities and their technologies. That’s how we came up with the “bicho canasto” (caterpillar cocoon), a light shelter built from ropes and palm fronds panels, a typical material used in the area. The structure rises through a pulleys system, making it easier to assemble. The caterpillar cocoon is safe and comfortable; it isolates from inclement weather, insects and animals; becoming one more element of the natural environment.
