2. The Senses and their functions Key Word: se les dará a los niños un vocabulario básico previo a la actividad el cual deberán buscar su significado y escribir tres veces en el cuaderno Sense, Seeing, Hearing , Smell, Touch, Taste, Sight, sweet, Salty, Bitter , Spicy, Soft, Sound, Hot, Bad, Soft, Cold, Loud, Rough, Recognize. La guía iniciará la clase realizando una la siguiente actividad: FUN ACTIVITY - USING OUR SENSES Things needed: lemon, salt and pepper, marbles, pencils, bell, keys and perfume.

Close the eyes of the child, then put some lemon and salt into his tongue, and describe the sensation. Then, put the marbles and pencils on his hands and describe their form. Finally, let him/her listen to the keys and the bells and describe their sound. Put a rose and some perfume close to his or her nose, describe the smell. Write down your experience on your note book.

Una vez terminada la actividad se les mostrara a los estudiantes las diferentes láminas de los 5 sentidos diciendo: We use five parts of our body for our senses. There are five senses.     

I can see with my eyes. I can hear with my ears I can taste with my tongue I can touch with my hand and fingers I can smell with my nose

We use our senses to recognize people, animals and things around us. a. SIGHT: We recognize light, colors, shape and size. Some examples are: a red circle, a happy face, a book


b. HEARING: we recognize voices and sounds. Some examples are: a ring bell, a phone ring, music.

c. SMELL: we recognize different smells. Some examples are: a rose, a perfume, a tangerine, a soup.

d. TOUCH: we recognize texture (rough and Soft) and temperature (Hot and Cold). Some examples are: a hard brick, a rock and a magazine.

e. TASTE: we recognize different flavors. Some examples are: a bitter lemon, sweet candies, salty pop corn, spicy food and ice cream.

La guía preguntara a los estudiantes sentados en el círculo: Show me the sense of smelling, show the sense of hearing y así sucesivamente con los cinco sentidos. Luego se les preguntara: What are the five senses? What sense is this? El procedimiento ha de seguir la lección de los tres tiempos Ejercicios o variaciones:  En el cuaderno se consigna e ilustra el tema.  Realizar los talleres del Science Workbook alusivos al tema. Desempeño de comprensión: Comprender la importancia y las funciones de los cinco sentidos.


Objeto indirecto: Aprender que cada sentido proporciona informaci贸n diferente y que dependemos de nuestro cerebro para filtrar y enviar la informaci贸n a todas las partes del cuerpo. Control de error o evaluaci贸n: Expresa en forma oral los 5 sentidos e identifica la parte del cuerpo que corresponde a cada sentido.
