Architecture Projects

Second Semester 2013

Coffee Shop

The design of a small coffee shop located at a residential area of the city od Brasilia. Formal solution based on a non-orthogonal extrusion.

Exhibition Pavilion The project for the exhibition pavilion consisted on creating a structure primarily based on circular lines. Because of the climate of Brasilia, which is hot and dry, the pavilion should be as compact as possible with at least one large opening to ensure environmental comfort.

Geometrical Composition

Nature The exercise consisted on a task to draw (1) and then geometrize (2) an element of the nature, which in this case was a bromeliad. The second task was to create an acrylic sculpture (3).

CARNIVAL This task consisted on geometrizing (1) and sculpting (2) any figure related to carnival. To complete the task I chose the Harlequin, one of the principal stock characters of the Italian commedia dell'arte.

The task consisted on building a luminaire based on an specific method of construction. The method chosen was Wood Frame. The idea was to make a kind of box, specifically a cube, to make a clear allusion to the building system. A cube almost closed, except for small gaps. Vertical bars shut this cube, which would only open on the sides, to prevent diffusion of light. The gaps would be covered with cotton fabric, and the lamp used would be a red light in order to give colour and life to the project.
