01 // Bunin House / professional project | TLP-AB TYPE: High-end residential apartments YEAR: 2017 LOCATION: Moscow, Russia UNIT SIZE: 700 - 3,340 square feet / 65 - 310 square meters NUMBER OF UNITS: 29 3D VISUALIZATION: KeyLight, I. Beglaryan RESPONSIBILITIES: ›› a key member of the team creating units’ interior concept and common areas ›› produced a set of project documentation including details, stairs and furniture drawings A Premium Class House is a comprehensive renovation of a former commercial apartment building, constructed in 1930 by a famous St. Petersburg architect, Vasily Schaub in a Neomodern style. The historic facades have been carefully restored. The austerity of the facades created by the master of northern Art Nouveau is also retained in the ascetic interiors. Each entrance lobby has its own decoration. A unique lattice pattern was created for the elevator shafts. Bunin House has 29 apartments including three spacious penthouses, as well as commercial and public space on the ground level. A unique concept of interiors was developed for the project. It reinterprets a classical style with modern materials: metal, marble, wood and mosaics.

Beglaryan RESPONSIBILITIES: ›› created standard interiors for the residential houses ›› prepared presentations for clients ›› provided alternative design options for clients’ reviews ›› developed construction document drawing sets ›› selected materials, equipment and décor ›› collaborated with 3D visualizers, engineers and suppliers ›› organized and maintained a library of materials The small upscale village was designed for a few customers united by friend and family ties. Each building in it meets the taste of its inhabitants, but all of them are united by the choice of materials and approach to their use. All buildings of the complex are placed at the bends of the road that runs throughout the plot. Such an outline increased the number of scenic spots. Facades of each building, constructed of the same clinker bricks, differ only by the type of brick laying. A “floating” leisure house is designed in the center of an artificial pond. The list of buildings: ›› Guest House ›› Leisure House ›› Residential House 1 (RH 1) ›› Residential House 2 (RH 2) ›› Residential House 3 (RH 3) ›› Residential House 4 (RH 4) ›› Residential House 5 (RH 5)

DEVELOPMENT OF CONCEPT The relevance of the topic A modern city represents a complex and ever-changing ecosystem. As its aesthetics and structure continue to change, so do its social relationships: organization of public spaces and the logic of urban lifestyle itself. Human interaction with the city is dictated by its buildings, streets, traffic and pace of life. As a result, a person is deprived of simple pleasures, such as living a life full of personal interactions, communication, strolls and relaxation. People don’t have places where they can feel connected to one another outside of home and work.  Idea

During my research, I found that there’s a growing need for third places in Saratov. Considering the city’s existing structure, I found appropriate locations that fit the framework of third places. I created a strategy of their development within the entire city and organized a network of public spaces. This would drastically improve the city, making it more comfortable and attractive for everyday people.

07 // Connection / workshop | URBAN STUDIO Russian Compound is one of the oldest districts in central Jerusalem. It is located in the heart of the city, between the Old City and Mea She’arim district. It was built in the XIX century to accommodate Russian pilgrims. The area has since been detached from the city’s life and taken out of its context. Both locals and tourists rarely visit it and its streets are primarily used for parking. collision

The project’s primary purpose was to bring life back to this area. We decided to consider it as a meeting point between public and private spaces. We thought of this contact in the context of a relationship developing over the years between the owner (Jerusalem) and the guest (Russian Compound): from the initial introduction to the strong bond. We took into account the cultural and physical topography of the area and developed our project at the junction of the Old City and the New City of Jerusalem. We created a new space for various religions and cultures to meet.

As a result, a unique model was created for public and private spaces to intertwine and interact with each other. cooperation
