Are those pimples? -

By Margarita Rodriguez

They’re many people in the world who sleep with their makeup on or after a long day they rest without washing their face. Little do they know how much harm they’re causing to their skin. Some of the few things that could happen to their skin are breakouts, their complexion appearing duller, and if they have acne they will make it worst. People who have clear or no redness as in the cheeks or in the T zone of their faces they are pretty lucky. If they love wearing makeup on a daily and have a habit of sleeping with it on all of that will change. Sleeping with their makeup on causes the oil and the product clog their pores, making them bigger, nastier, and more noticeable. “Free radicals cause the breakdown of healthy collagen, which results in fine lines on the skin” Dr. Schweiger. It’s kind of weird to hear that skin can appear duller just by sleeping with makeup or a dirty face, but how do people expect it to look after oils, dirt etc.. to be in their face all night rubbing against their pillows. “Oils and dead skin cells on the outermost layers of the skin are matted up against the pillow all night, and natural turnover of this dull epidermal layer is diminished”. “Regular cleansing and exfoliation are integral to revealing healthy new skin cells and allowing the natural repair processes of the skin to occur.” Dr. Chiu. Next time somebody thinks about sleeping without washing their face they should think twice. They shouldn’t second guess and go before they damage their skin.
