Expect a melting pot of mind-blowing music, ranging from blues to boogie and Louis Armstrong to Liberace.

If no news is good news then good news is fake news. Jonathan Pie returns to the road once more to berate the people in power – and the journalists apparently holding them to account. GREG RIPLEY-DUGGAN FOR HAMPSTEAD THEATRE PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS A HAMPSTEAD THEATRE AND BIRMINGHAM REPERTORY THEATRE CO-PRODUCTION OF

PRISM

Starring Robert Lindsay and Tara Fitzgerald Written and Directed by Terry Johnson With Victoria Blunt and Oliver Hembrough Robert Lindsay is ‘magnetic’ (The Guardian), ‘perfect’ (The Times) and ‘glorious’ (Mail on Sunday) in Terry Johnson’s delightfully witty and poignant play based on the extraordinary life of double Oscar-winning cinematic master Jack Cardiff. The legendary Jack Cardiff has retired to the sleepy village of Denham, Buckinghamshire. His days of hard work – and play – on some of the most famous film sets in the world are now long behind him, as are his secret liaisons with some of the most famous women in the world… Surrounded by memorabilia from a lifetime of ‘painting with light’, the writing of an autobiography should be an easy matter – were it not that Jack would now rather live in the past than remember it.

FIRST ENCOUNTERS: THE MERCHANT OF VENICE

‘The world is still deceived by ornament’ Venice is a multi-cultural melting pot and the trading centre of the world, a place where everything has a value. High stakes are placed on beauty and choices are made on appearance rather than reality. But when one of three boxes holds all you’ve ever wanted, should you really decide on looks alone? First Encounters with Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice is a new production specially created for young people and adults experiencing Shakespeare for the first time. Directed by Robin Belfield, it uses an edited version of the original text to bring Shakespeare’s story of justice and mercy to life in just 90 minutes. In collaboration with our regional theatre partners and Associate Schools, this production also sees 24 young actors from the RSC’s Next Generation Company take on the parts of Jessica and Lorenzo, the two young people caught up in a clash between family, money and culture. This production is brought to the Bonington with support from the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall Nottingham. ASSISTED PERFORMANCES SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETED A BSL interpreted performance is where the vocal line is interpreted into sign language. The interpreter stands at the front of the stage to one side allowing you to view both the signer and the production. AUDIO DESCRIBED Live commentary via personalised headphones for blind and partially sighted people. Braille and Large Print cast lists will be available for these performances, with programme notes broadcast 15 minutes prior to the performance. TOUCH TOURS Touch tours enable Blind and partially sighted people a unique opportunity to go onto the stage and explore the sets, costumes and props before the performance begins. CAPTIONED English text displayed on a unit for people who are hard of hearing. Captions also include sound effects, offstage noises and character names. RELAXED PERFORMANCES Relaxed Performances provide an opportunity for customers who may find it difficult to come and see a show to experience the joy of live theatre. It’s still the same show but with some small changes to sound levels, lighting and no strobe lighting is used. These performances provide a less formal, more supportive atmosphere in order to reduce anxiety levels. ACCESS PROVIDERS:
