The LaMarsh Managed Change Process Consists of Five Steps  1: Identify the Change • Determine the major issues in each stage  Current—Desired—Delta  2: Prepare the Change • Identify and assess the key stakeholders  Sponsor—Change Agent—Target • Determine the degree of risk and cost of the change  Culture—History—Resistance  3: Plan the Change • Design the change systems  Communication—Learning—Reward  4: Implement the Change  5: Sustain the Change

Identify the Change: The Change Process

Targets need to know: • Current State—Why?  The business case for leaving the Current State • Delta State—How?  The plan for getting through the Delta State • Desired State—What?  The definition of the Desired State

Managed Change is more Art than Science  An organization is defined by its structure, process, people, and culture • Structure—the organization, the technology, the geography, the infrastructure • Process—The way the work flows • People—Their competencies, experience, skills and knowledge • Culture—How people behave; How those behaviors reflect what they believe; The rules they follow  A change on one element causes a change in all elements
