The project proposes the construction of a temporary pavilion which exposes archaeological remains that are found during the excavations on the site of Hadrian’s Villa. Privileged position and height of the complex, determines the choice of placing the pavilion inside the perimeter of the building called “Palazzo d’Inverno”. The project is composed of three volumes that lead the visitor to a first gallery, a broad and flexible central space and a third gallery that gives access to the natural terrace. In the central volume, as well as the largest part of the display, there is a staircase leading to a mezzanine level that allows amirare the archaeological complex with a completely new position.

The respectful challenge between ancient and modern is another main objective of the intervention, that increases its inner value. The restoration consists in giving value to the relationship between tradition and modernity: new contemporary architectural elements stand beside the existing structures without hiding them, in order to increase the value of its peculiarity with a sense of respect for its original nature.
