ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 2014/onwards - Altamura, Italy NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING Partnership with Ing. Nicolas Cornacchia I was in charge of the graphic rendering and architectural design of the exterior of this residential building in Altamura. The project, which consists of eight apartments and lofts, garages and warehouses, is built according to the most advanced regulations on sustainable building and offers significant energy savings compared to traditional buildings.

2013/onwards - Amelie Les Bains, France THERMOLUDIC CENTER IN AMÉLIE-LES BAINS Project: Francisco Mangado y Asociados sl

The site of the new spa center in AmĂŠlie-Les Bains has extraordinary landscape and historical attributes. The starting point, hence, is to try to respect the old thermal hospital construction in everything that is of a massive and permanent nature, while reshaping the roofs and creating a new volume. Glazed, lighter in build, this volume rests on and flows through the existing construction, which acts as a plinth, and accommodates new uses as well as the scheme of circulation spaces necessary for the new thermal center to function.

2013/onwards - Madrid, Spain ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR B1 - MAHOU TOWERS Project: Francisco Mangado y Asociados sl

This project of two towers, one for residential use and one for offices, with mixed-uses buildings at the basement, occupies a significant position within an urban planning program that covers a large area around the old brewery and Mahou Vincente Calderon stadium in Madrid.

PIANTA PIANO SECONDO 2010/2012 - Valladolid, Spain BODEGA BELONDRADE Y LURTON EXTENSION Project: ODI mas P sl

The project is the expansion of the winery of Didier Belondrade, who produces white wines in the Ribera del Duero area. The project involves the construction of a wine cellar, made of prefabricated concrete panels, which will host a new room for more than 400 barrels, an agricultural warehouse, laboratories, services and a spectacular tasting room. The tasting room is at the end of the building, and offers a breathtaking view of the countyside of Castille.

2010/onwards - Altamura, Italy ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR URBAN RENEWAL Partnership with Ing. Domenico Franchini In order to obtain an energetic and environmental improvement, it has been proposed to demolish and reconstruct a residential building in Altamura. The new project involves the construction of apartments of small and medium size, paying particular attention to natural light. Each flat will be equipped with a solar greenhouse on the southern part, in order to enhance the comfort of the habitants.

INTERIOR DESIGN 2012 - Pontedera, Italy DIVO - CORSO MATTEOTTI

Partnership with MetroOffice Architetti

The project consists of a succession of events that lead to the exploration of the inner space of the room. Display units and work tables are made of white metal, folded like paper, creating a dance of origami pieces. The transition between a space and the other takes place through the partially burnished iron. A white metal wire, suspended from the ceiling, binds all the spaces as the thread of Ariadne.

2012/onwards - Istanbul, Turkey - Moscow, Russia NEW SHOP DESIGN FOR ROBERTO BRAVO JEWELERIES Partnership with MetroOffice Architetti

This project was commissioned by the brand of jewelery ‘Roberto Bravo’, owner of a number of shops in major European capitals. The request was for a new concept that should identify strongly, both inside and outside, with the brand, giving it a distinct personality. The interior features equipped walls, containing the shop windows, walls do not include angles, in order to “embrace” the customers. The sign and the various exhibitors are made of burnished glossy metal.

2011 - Santa Flavia, Sicily, Italy SPA - WELLNESS INTERIOR DESIGN DESIGN Partnership with Francesco Maestrelli Architetto Within the elegant and exclusive ambience of Santa Flavia Domina Home in Sicily, we planned an area of about 260 sq.m. to welcome guests in a real oasis of relaxation. The Wellness Center is divided into three distinct areas: gym, treatment and SPA and with its black stone finishes along the corridors, it always assures an atmosphere of well being.

COMPETITIONS 2014 - Pamplona, Spain URBAN RENEWAL OF SALESIANOS AREA Partnership with Arch. Angelo Carra The proposal has been developed ffor a competition concerning the redevelopment of a large city block occupied by the College of the Salesians in Pamplonas. A considerable part of the space will be used for residences: the volumes were concentrated in very high blocks, which are characterized by the presence of balconies and terraces.

2013 - Rijeka, Croatia RENOVATION OF DELTA AND PORTO BAROS Project: Francisco Mangado y Asociados sl The project proposes the establishment of a specific grid morphology, resulted from a study of the existing urbn grid mixed with a geometric movement of the building facades in order to create a high density of public spaces along the roads. This grid organizes the entire site resulting in a series of two strips of park, connecting the main park to the waterfront, where a series of important public services, such as an aquarium, a congress center and the sports port are located.

2013 - Dolzago, Italy NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL IN DOLZAGO M. Franchini, A. Donati The building is organized around a large central atrium, open to the garden and to a central patio. This atrium serves as a lecture hall for common activities or for parentsteacher meetings. The space is suitable for both curricular and extracurricular activities and can be expanded by the sliding of the flexible walls, thus creating an open space together with the canteen and the science laboratory.

COMPETITIONS 2012 - Design Competition (Honorable mentioned)

STRATO A NEW STONE SINK FOR

antoniolupi

Strato is a stone sink, supported by brackets. It can be a single element or can be combined with bathroom furniture systems of different materials and finishes. Its simple elegance, its horizontal lines allow a harmonious integration in contemporary and minimal environments, adding a pleasant curvy touch to the rigorous horizontal lines of the structure.

2011 - Geneve, Suisse NEW RESIDENTIAL AND CULTURAL BUILDING Partnership with MetroOffice Architetti The residential building occupies the entire site, which is a small parcel in the historic centre of Geneve. The south elevation, on rue des Grottes, is characterized by alternating fiber cement panels and expanded metal to shield the interior from light. All the apartments have small outdoor spaces, even though they have different plans.

2011 - Gland, Suisse (Shortlisted project) NEW SWIMMING CENTER IN MONTOLY Partnership with MetroOffice Architetti

Each part of the building offers the public the possibility to see the different activities that take place both inside, but also in the outer surroundings. On the northern side, the pool is closed by the changing rooms, but the other three sides are open onto the green garden, which also divides the pool area from the entrance and bar area. Interiors provide a relaxing environment and are distributed under the balcony that surrounds three sides of the upper level of the pool.

COMPETITIONS 2010 - Peschiera del Garda, Italy

URBAN RENEWAL OF PIAZZA FERDINANDO DI SAVOIA M. Franchini, A. Donati, G. Innocenti Degli, M. Mariotti The space is divided into a grid, as suggested by the very interactions between the areas of the plaza and the functions they perform. A rigorous grid provides the adequate space to reach the center, while the careful mix of functions ensures the quality and usefulness of the square at different times and situations during the day.

2010 - Tassullo, Italy URBAN RECONSTRUCTION OF PIAZZA C.A. PILATI M. Franchini, M. Forti, P. Facendola The proposed design aims to give back to the inhabitants of Tassullo a lost public space, which will also re-establish the relationships between the buildings in the area. The new buildings will constitute a functional “axis” which will connect the square to the driveway behind with a strip of tiers, fountains and ramps that makes the difference in level particularly interesting and separates the pedestrian area from the driveway.

2009 - Pantelleria, Italy (Winning Project) URBAN REGENERATION OF THE WATERFRONT Partnership with nuvolaB Architetti Associati The main objective is to return to the connection between the city and the sea, which has been lost in this area. The project transforms the old utilitarian part centrality into a space with a contemporan purpose, based on the enhancement of receptivity and the condensing of functions; ensuring the existing “craft of the sea” on one hand and the introduction of culture and leisure on the other.

ACADEMIC WORKS 2010 - Segovia, Spain NEW PARKING AND VISITOR CENTER

This is the final project of the master I attended in Spain. The building is a mixed-use car park and touristic terminal for the city of Segovia. The theme is treated giving priority to the visitors and car paths rising and decending from the hill, framing views of the picturesque old town and cathedral. It’s like an “helix” that reverses and swaps the cars arriving with visitors on foot on the main front, bringing the visitors in contact with the historic center upon their mere arrival in the city of Segovia. 2010 - Rome, Italy

WORKSHOP - TIBURTINA HIGHWAY Università di Roma Tre - University of Waterloo, Canada We created a recovery plan for Tiburtina highway, an infrastructure that could lose its function as a public road. We designed the highway as a large public space to be filled with attractive features for everybody, especially families with children: large green spaces and “Huts” which may serve as public gardens, kindergartens or places for trainspotting.

2010 - Rome, Italy RESTORATION OF THE IMPERIAL FORA AREA

The aim of the project is to redevelope the whole area, optimizing the use of space for the urban life, but also from the archeological point of view. Aiming to restore the now lost visual perception, we maintained the direction of Via dei Foi Imperiali as an urban axis, as to rationalize the gap between the archaeological park and the urban level. We designed the construction of new walkways and bridges, which act as a meeting point between the two levels (Archaeological / Urban).

ACADEMIC WORKS 2009 - Prato, Italy THESIS - A NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL IN PRATO

The projects aims to create an environment characterized by a strong sense of home, but it also offers many possibilities for exploration and discovery. The cover is always different in the eyes of the observer, with its alternation of skylights, open spaces, and green roofs, leading to a variety of external and internal spaces, always focusing on the needs of those using the teaching environment.

2008 - Vignola, Italy WORKSHOP - NEW SCENARIOS FOR VIGNOLA

The workshop implied a lot of teamwork which resulted in the formulation of a working hypothesis for the implementation of a cultural change: from the reality suggested by the planning instruments, policies and proposals of the management, to the ideal configuration of a series of scenarios for urban Vignola. 10 days, 30 students, 9 tutors, 5 teachers in a single workspace equipped with everything needed to set up a design studio.

A’

2008 - Donoratico, Italy ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR URBAN RENEWAL

The course focused on the theoretical and practical aspects of arquitecture on the large scale of urban facilities for small communities. The project approached the two aspects of recovery and consolidation of weak or disrupted urban structures, as well as research and development of the relations that provide meaning to the urban landscape.
