This present work presents the historical of the one of the oldest Districts of the city of São Paulo (Brazil), the District of Itaquera, where in 2014 will be opening of the World Cup Soccer. Of great historical richness, was the site where the Portuguese soldier António da Cunha de Abreu, who fought in the Portuguese fleet responsible for the expulsion of the French and Dutch at the Brazil, settled as a farmer in 1644. This Work also includes testimonies of some families, who participated in the formation of the district and describes the occupations of the pioneers, the old buildings that composed, daily customs, dietary practices, politics, clothing, education, money that circulated at the time, health, sport, anyway.
