Biology Week At The Grove showing creativity means:  Providing different choices and experiences.  Taking risks in a safe environment.  Embracing opportunities and change.  Encouraging different ways of thinking and curiosity.  Being prepared to fail and change practice as a result.  Showing bravery to do something different.  Showing resilience.  Embracing freedom and originality.

Last week students from The Grove along with members of the local community enjoyed a fantastic falconry display. Lisa from Shropshire Falconry brought a white faced owl, Bengal eagle owl and a long eared owl for us to fly in our gym!

In practice you will see:  Personalised learning and a variety of activities in lessons.  Best practice and ideas for innovation shared.  Lessons that encourage risk-taking and failure.  The development of problem-solving skills.  Celebration of failure and the learning that has resulted from it.  Encouragement of others to pursue their own interests.

School Photographs Do not forget that school photographs for Years 7, 9, 11 and 13 will be taking place on Tuesday 22nd October.

Halloween and Bonfire Event

Prize Giving Event At the end of September, seven of our students were invited to University Centre, Shrewsbury to take part in a Shropshire prize giving event. These students were nominated across all age groups from various categories such as attitude to learning, overcoming obstacles, achievement, perseverance and excellence in a subject area. Each student nominated received a certificate and prize of a £15 voucher. The students had a great day being able to explore the opportunities of the University, receive motivational talks from guest speakers and plenty of cake was provided too! Well done to the lucky prize winners!

Market Drayton Arts Festival

Community Ambassadors Our Community Ambassadors took part in the Market Drayton ‘Wellbeing’ event recently. The event hosts a number of charities and organisations from the local area who can assist with health and wellbeing. Our Ambassadors enjoyed being able to speak to the local community and have come away with some wonderful ideas on how they can make a difference to the community with forthcoming projects.

The Market Drayton Arts Festival takes place annually and we are delighted to join our other local schools to contribute students' work towards the published calendar. This year we will be hosting the School' Calendar Project on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October in the School Hall from 10:00am – 2:30pm, where over 100 paintings from 13 local schools will be displayed. The below photo is of last year’s winners and their pictures which were published in the 2019 calendar. The 2020 calendar will be on sale from school at the cost of £5.00.
