WEEKLY BULLETIN Dear Parents and Carers, Last week I informed you about our vision and whole school values and over the next couple of weeks I am going to share with you how we will demonstrate each value across our school community.

Excellence: What does this mean to our teachers and students? Having the highest standards of self and others.  Delivering our absolute best every day.  Conducting ourselves with confidence and pride.  Consistently making the best efforts.  Consistently showing dedication and respect.  In practice this is what we aim to see across our school:  Excellent role models of all ages.  Constant encouragement to achieve our best.  Making mistakes and learning well from them.  Highly positive, effective relationships.  Insistence on the highest standards.  Everybody being proactive and taking responsibility for achieving our personal best.

Colomendy 46 Year 7 students from The Grove School were joined by 105 students from Sir John Talbot’s and 158 students from The Marches School on a cross Trust trip to Colomendy Outdoor Education Centre in Kingswood last weekend. Students had the opportunity to participate in a fantastic variety of fun activities, some of these included: bush craft skills, problem solving puzzles, buggy building team exercises, a climbing wall and a leap of faith challenge to name just a few. For many of the students this was their first time away and it provided them with a fantastic opportunity to develop a variety of skills, as well as get to know their peers better. We hope they had a fantastic time!

Support for Young People We have recently been informed that the BBC have brought out a new app called “Own It”. The app, which features a special keyboard, combines machine-learning technology with the ability to keep a diary of young people’s emotions to allow children the chance to record how they are feeling and why. In response, the app can offer help and support, giving advice if their behaviour strays outside safe and sensible norms. Children can access the app at any time to get instant, on-screen advice and support the moment they need it. This article was cited from the BBC website please click here for further information
