OUR PARISH Parish Office Summer Hours End Regular Office hours will resume this Friday, August 16th. NEWLYWEDS. Our prayers and best wishes go with Jason Michael Marry and Amanda June Hayes, who were married here on Saturday, August 3rd. May God’s grace support them throughout their married life! OVER 60’S/RETIREES: The monthly Potluck will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, beginning around noon. Those who are able to do so should bring a covered dish and their own table service. A Parish Nurse will be available for blood pressure checks and health-related questions.

SUMMER FUN WITH THE MOM’S GROUP! It's summertime. Please join the mom's group at various parks throughout the summer. Our next outing is Wednesday, August 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Meadowbrook Park. We hope you can join us. The SECOND COLLECTION for the month of August will be taken the weekend of 17th and 18th. It will be taken for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Catholic go-to organization for helping with emergency needs of the poor. The continuing increase in families in need due to the poor economy has put a strain on the Society’s finances. Please consider giving generously.

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time COFFEE AND DONUTS. A Time For Connection and Community. On September 15th the Sunday morning Coffee Shop will resume. We need a little of your 'TIME' to host. "Host" volunteers will work only one Mass. Please sign up to host after the 8:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is inspired by Gospel values and leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederick Ozanam and its patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

Coffee Shop gives us a chance to get acquainted with other parishioners. Please give a small amount of your time to keep it going. Sign up sheets are in the back of the church or call Cheri at 352-4918 if you have any questions.

The Holy Cross/St. Matthew Conference is blessed by the generosity of our parishioners who make this outreach possible. Your collective food and financial contributions enabled us to assist 215 adults and 264 children in Champaign during July (a record number of people for us).

P.S. This gift of time would be a great family project once or twice a year. If you are a member of a group (scouts, RCIA, a bible study group, Family Formation, etc.), why not sign up for a couple of times? It only takes 2-3 people to do it.

Please continue your support and keep the members of St. Vincent de Paul Society and those they help in your prayers. Our donation poor box is in the vestibule of the Church. THE COLLECTION CONTINUES for supplies for school kits to be made for children in need in the United States and third world countries. If you would like to make a contribution, the supplies for one kit are:

A great big THANK YOU to all of the children who participated in the Mass Led By Our Children. You all did a fantastic job of giving of your Time and Talent and we are so proud of you. Thank you also to the parents who encouraged and supported these children in their desire to serve the church. You are the ones who help make it happen. Watch the bulletin for the next Mass Led By Our Children in September. If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this ministry please call the Parish Office.
