P&F News Term 1 is a busy term with lots of activities in the College. Boarder’s afternoon teas will recommence On February 19th for all our Group 1 mothers feeding the Year 7, 8 and 9 boys. This year we will be moving from the BBQ area near the Cyprian and gathering in the Year 12 dormitory courtyard, overlooking Derek Cameron Oval for afternoon tea. If you are unable to attend the afternoon tea, please deposit your lovely food in the fridge in the boarder’s dining room. We hope to recruit a few more volunteers at the Welcome Evening for this wonderful initiative. Following the Yr 12 Formal pre-drinks, an invitation has been sent out to all parents of Year 12 boys to join together for dinner whilst the formal is going on. Last year this dinner was such an enjoyable evening with some 66 parents gathered together, we decided to make it an annual event. If any parent did not receive their invitation please email me: mtatcarmody@optusnet.com.au and I will provide details for you. This is a wonderful opportunity for our day and boarding parents to meet each other, often for the first time, relax and enjoy each other’s company and share conversation.

We are also seeking more volunteers to assist the Health Centre in transporting boarding boys to the many and varied appointments that occur in any given week. A Blue Card is required for this assistance. However if you don’t already have one and would like to help, the College will gladly arrange for you to be issued with one. Our boarding community adds a richness of spirit to the life of the College and it is a pleasure to be involved with boarder’s support. If any of you have boarders in your sons’ classes, I would encourage you and your boys to get to know them. These boys are frequently great distances from their homes and families would welcome your hospitality in any way you could provide. If you are interested in helping out in any of the above mentioned areas, please don’t hesitate to email us, we would welcome your support.
