Giving Back Some mes we wonder if what we are doing at MAP makes a difference in the lives  of the people we help.  Some people we never see again and some mes that’s all it  takes is a one‐ me assistance.

Please help us keep our community   neighbors warm this winter!

Did you know that $40.00 will provide  21 healthy meals for a single person for  7 days from the Mission for Area   People’s Healthy Choice food pantry?   Last year 2,756 people came through  our food pantry.  That means the cost  to MAP would be $110,240.00 if we  had to purchase all the healthy food  for our pantry.  I can tell you in the 10  years I have been at MAP, I have never  seen the food pantry so low, as well as  the  financial dona ons are down.

Thank You MAP! .................. 2

A few years ago “Jamie” came to MAP in need of some assistance, which she   received. We didn’t hear from her again un l a couple of months ago when she  came to MAP asking for informa on and brochures she could give to her employer.

Every year her employer (Automa c Spring) sets aside 5% of their corporate profits  to be given to a church or faith‐based organiza on.  Employees are asked to submit  a charity or church of their choice and the one that is selected will receive a   financial check for the work they are doing in their community.  At the end of July,  MAP received the good news that we were the charity chosen to receive the 5% of  corporate profits.

All dona ons may be dropped off at Mission for Area   People, located at 2500 Jefferson Street in Muskegon  Heights, between the hours of 9:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m.

So I guess it just goes to show, the work we do at MAP does make a difference. One  person remembered the help she received when  mes were tough.  Now when  mes are be er, she felt it was important to share with her employer the help she  received and wanted to find a way to give back.
