Molding Makes The Difference! In the past, the shortcoming of most fan stacks was the inability to produce molds that would yield precise radius dimensions and fan tip clearances. CNC machining does make a difference. We CNC our fan stack tooling to 0.001” tolerance to ensure accurate tip clearance without the need for shims or spacers. Precise fan stack radius dimensions eliminate “clover-leafing” that occurs with inaccurate tooling. All this technology results in a fan stack that is accurate and reduces installation issues, providing years of trouble-free service without the need for constant adjustment.

What Makes Star Fan Stacks Better Than The Competition? Our fan stacks are constructed using the strongest laminate schedule of any fan stack currently in the industry. The strength of the stack is evident in the laminate schedule and the overall weight of the stack. This results in more material and greater overall strength, and the additional mass results in lower harmonic frequencies. All this adds up to a fan stack that is capable of withstanding high winds and seismic loads while reducing vibration levels across the entire spectrum. Each fan stack has horizontal and vertical ribs to ensure superior strength, and the top, bottom and side flanges are wider and thicker than our competitor's fan stacks. 

Pultruded Fiberglass Panel Decking System

Star Cooling Towers decking system panels interlock and overlap to form a safe, strong working surface on your cooling tower. Manufactured of pultruded fiberglass reinforced polyester, the lightweight, high strength and corrosion-resistant design offers quick, easy installation. It is available with a gritted surface for fan decks and hot water basin applications. Important features include: 

The Star decking system is available in 1-1/8” deep panels, 24” wide. Normally grittedand available in 20’ through 36’ standard lengths. The panels interlock and overlap to form a continuous, solid surface. The quick screw-down construction system ensures rapid installation and reduced field labor costs. The standard resin system is a slate gray fire retardant polyester resin meeting the requirements of Class 1 rating of 25 or less per ASTM E-84 and the self-extinguishing requirements of ASTM D365. The resin is UV-inhibited and the composite includes a surface veil on all exposed surfaces for enhanced corrosion and UV-protection. Other resins and colors are available upon request.

Header Support FRP Crossflow Saddle The Star Cooling Towers FRP header saddle is designed to fit your distribution system needs. The saddle is CNC machined from vacuum infused products to a high tolerance ensuring proper field fit-up and ease of installation. Saddle sizes vary to fit pipes from 12� up to 72� diameter. Custom sizes and shapes are available based on your design needs.


Header Support FRP Counterflow Saddle The Star Cooling Towers FRP header saddle is designed to fit your distribution system needs. The saddle is CNC machined from pultruded products to a high tolerance ensuring proper field fit-up and ease of installation. The saddles are built from a panel system making them very versatile in achieving several sizes to fit pipes from 12�up to 36� diameter. Custom sizes and shapes are available based on your design needs.


Precision-Flo™ Crossflow Nozzles

Star Cooling Towers Precision-Flo water distribution nozzle is a non-clogging nozzle designed specifically for all crossflow cooling tower applications. It provides excellent flow characteristics utilizing a one piece design with single support distribution plate. This produces a uniform distribution pattern helping to enhance the cooling tower’s thermal performance. A unique color coding system allows for easy identification of the correct orifice size. Available orifice sizes range from .625” to 1.375”. The Star Precision-Flo crossflow nozzle is easily installed and can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement. The nozzle is manufactured of inert high strength injection molded polypropylene for outstanding corrosion resistance and strength.


Precision-Flo™ Counterflow Nozzles

The Star Cooling Towers PFC™ Precision-Flo counterflow distribution nozzle is an efficient, nonclogging nozzle designed specifically for all counterflow cooling tower applications. The patented PFC design provides excellent flow characteristics and a very uniform spray pattern, enhancing the cooling tower’s thermal performance. A unique color coding system allows for easy identification of the correct orifice size, from .75” to 1.5”. The PFC nozzle is easily installed – it attaches to the distribution lateral with a PVC adapter using standard 2” NPT threads. Other 2” threads are available on request. The nozzle can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement. The Star PFC nozzle is manufactured of inert high strength injection molded polypropylene for outstanding corrosion resistance. Gusseted teeth enhance the nozzle’s strength. Plus, the bottom plate locks into place for additional security.










Splash Bar Media Brentwood’s AccuPac ® Splash Fills are utilized when compromised waters are used for make-up, when there may be a high degree of dust or sand in the environment, or when process contaminants may be harmful to film-type fills. By interrupting the water stream with splash surfaces that cause the water droplets to break up into smaller droplets, the greatest amount of water surface can be exposed to the cooling air.

PVC Lath

A durable, high-performance splash bar that maximizes practicality, the Kelly Bar features an inverted V stiffener for strength and support and can be supplied in a heavy-duty version for longer spans.

The Lath splash fill is a lightweight PVC replacement for wooden lath in crossflow or counterflow towers. It features a reinforcing rib for strength and is highly resistant to chemicals and biological attack.

V Bar & V Bar HD The V Bar is an industry-leading splash bar, featuring a unique stiffening center rib that improves strength for maximum spans. Heavy-duty V Bar is available at twice the normal thickness for northern climates where extreme ice loads are possible.

Pi Bar Designed for extra-dirty water applications where a 2-inch-wide bar is desired, the Pi Bar’s domed top enhances the splash effect and sloping feet help shed accumulation of solids. It provides for maximum spans and increased fouling reduction capability.

Para Bar & Para Bar LS The Para Bar is durably engineered, featuring a parabolic shape for strength and support. It is used as a direct replacement for similar to like profile splash bars and can be supplied in a long-span version for increased span capability.

The Better Alternative to Wood Unlike wood,StarCoolingTowers structuralFRPshapesoffersuperiorresistanceto a broad range of chemicals.They are virtuallyunaffected by moisture or immersion in water and do not require chemical preservative treatment. They are inert and easily disposed of in landfills. The Star structural FRP shapes are stronger, with higher structural design values than traditional wood. And, they are approximately half the total weight of comparable wood sizes. Star structural FRP shapes are available with a standard resin system of slate gray fire retardant polyester resin meeting the requirements of Class1ratingof 25 or less per ASTME-84 and the self-extinguishing requirements of ASTMD-635. The resin is UV inhibited and the composite includes a surface veil on all exposed surfaces for enhanced corrosion and UV protection. Other resins and colors are available upon request.
