BACHLEOR 1 Atelier Mario Botta

First Project: Gottardo Atelier Mario Botta The task is to build an alpine structure at 2091 m on the S.Gottardo peak based on the semester’s classes. Each student is assigned a reference case study to analyze, understand and to adapt its key features in his/her own project simulation. Each project has been reviewed by a professional jury under Mario Botta’s guidance. All functions happen around the lake and now happen under one space as a collective. A massive cover 9 meters tall dialogues with the neighboring mountains with its roof profile. The roof is perforated and all four side are punched with small rectangular holes so to create a special light effect.

Second Project: Linea Atelier Mario Botta

Piotta`s mountain train arrival station. This mountain train climbs the mountain at an angle up to 87%. The starting station is located at 1010m while the final one is at 1796m. At this time the station is located on a slope and it is poorly developed. I identified the need for a transitional structure to protect the hikers from the hard mountain sun and while allowing a memorable panorama and rest. The idea was of a canopy as a feather floating on air. The canopy's exterior is rectangular but on the interior follows the mountain`s profile leaving a slight gap to let light filter in and hightight the mountain`s rock texture. Columns are shaped to look lighter and inobtrusive. For the final critic an 8m wide, 1:1000 scale section model of the valley was made.

“DEMOLISH AND ERECT Learning happens in many ways and on many level, but most importantly learning doesn't begin neither end on a desk. The goal of this atelier was to have deep understanding of two materials, wood and stone. Learning a material throughly is no easy task. So at Atelier Pedrozzi ( 25 students, 3 assistants and 1 teacher) reached the heights of Sheru, 2010m to clear 2 hectars of larch trees. by doing so we understood the characteristics of wood better than in any classroom. All the trees were then hauled downstream by helicopter to two lumberjacks. The two lumberjacks would cut the trees in planks following their methods. The planks were used to build scale 1:10 models of the Chioma project.

BACHLEOR 2 Atelier Martino Pedrozzi

Third Project: Chioma Atelier Martino Pedrozzi

The chioma project will be the concluding project of the alpine architecture cycle, a mountain architecture that differs from the utopic vision of Bruno Taut and linked to craftsmanship. Chioma is a dwelling designed to host a weaver. Weaving is a methodical and re p e t i t i v e g e s t u re , y e t n o t industrial, but meditative. Meditation is what the this location suggest, a space in which light enters soft filtered by the trees and wind blows soft creating music while hitting the branches. Thus it was imperative for the dwelling to incentivate this dialogue, this is achieved by the removal of external walls. The project morphed many times, the union with the environment is a key trait of the project, we identify two main elements, the roof and the house.

Fourth Project: Ballarò Atelier Martino Pedrozzi

This project`s task is to build housing using stone, based on Ballaro's structural limitations. The location selected are the ruins of an old villa in "via del Bosco", one of Palermo`s oldest streets where most of the town`s aristocratic palaces are. With its 58m of perimeter and an area of 150 square meters the location is small. To address this project I proposed 3 different options which each followed its own principles

Fith Project: Physealis RHS+P This During summer 2016 at the age of 16 I managed to work in 3 different architectural firms, one of which was at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, in the The Leadenhall Building, London. There I had the chance to develop a project of my own located outside the building. At the time I was a high school student. My aim was to create a public structure with which everyone could interact. A city living room, a place which could be used to encourage workers in the city to meet, collaborate and exchange ideas. My idea was of a semi-transparent empty structure, eco-sustainable multi-purpose structure similar to a Physalis that encourages social interaction.

Digital Representation Lidor Gil-Ad The Curtain Wall house is a simple and beautiful union of modernity and tradition combining contemporary materials in a different interpretation of classical Japanese styles.
In tHis project, “Case Study House 07”, The house sits in an urban framework and it behaves as an eye, when the curtain is pulled closed it is a shut eye.
When the curtain is opened, the house’s eye is wide open The house develops one one ground floor and two upper levels, it contains no ornamentation and this is in a contrast with the colors of nearby buildings.
Large curtains cover the building`s east and south facades enclosing wide terraces with public and private spaces.
