2025 POLICY HANDBOOK

REGISTRATION AND FEES

• A minimum payment of $500 per camper per enrolled session is due at the time of registration. The camper’s registration is not complete without this deposit.

• Families will then be placed on a payment plan with payments charged on the first of each month from November to March. An additional $180 security fee per camper will be charged at the time of the first payment. Alternate payment arrangements may be made with the camp office.

• All camp fees must be paid by March 1, 2025. Camp Wise reserves the right to cancel registrations with unpaid balances.

FINANCIAL AID

• Application requests for financial aid must be submitted at the time of registration.

• A minimum payment of $100 per camper per enrolled session is due at the time of registration.

• The financial aid application process will be shared upon registration (this is an online application). Financial aid is based on demonstrated need and awarded in order of received applications until all funds are dispersed.

CANCELLATION DEADLINES

• All camp fees are refundable for any reason prior to February 1, 2025.

• Cancellations between February 1, 2025 and March 1, 2025 will forfeit a $500 processing charge. After March 1, 2025, all fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

• For campers enrolled in a 7-week session: Prior to February 1, 2025, all camp fees for a dropped session are refundable. From February 1, 2025 – March 1, 2025, fees for a dropped session are refundable, except for a $500 processing fee. If both sessions are dropped, a $1,000 processing fee will be withheld. After March 1, 2025, all fees for one or both dropped sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable.

LATE ARRIVAL / EARLY DEPARTURE

• It is the expectation that all campers will arrival on arrival day, stay at camp for the full session and depart on departure day.

• Any requests for arriving or departing on dates other than the designated start and end date of sessions must be submitted via email to the camp office for approval by the camp director prior to the start of the session.

• There are no tuition deductions for a camper arriving late or leaving early, including a late arrival due to illness.

DISCOUNTS AND REFERRAL BONUS

• Member Rate To be eligible for member rates, you must have an annual JCC membership for a period of one year. JCC memberships at out of town JCCs will be honored. Families may also qualify for the member rate if they live more than 30 miles from a Jewish Community Center.

• Sibling Discount Families registering more than one child will receive a sibling discount of 5% off each tuition for each additional child, after the first. The SIT and ILS programs do not qualify for this discount.

• Referral Bonus Refer a new camper to Camp Wise to earn a credit toward your camp tuition for Summer 2025 and a special gift.

To qualify, the referring family must be named by the applying family at the time of their application. The new camper must be a first time camper, and not a sibling of the referring family. (1st referral: $200 off, 2nd referral: additional $300 off, 3rd referral: additional $400 off – maximum of 8 referrals for $2,900 off).

REASONS FOR DISMISSAL WITHOUT REFUND

The camp director reserves the right to dismiss any camper without refund who:

• Willfully disregards camp rules or endangers the safety of themselves or others

• Physically, psychologically, or verbally abuses another member of the camp community

• Destroys camp property or the property of another member of the camp community

• Requires greater supervision than can reasonably be provided by camp staff

• Possesses or consumes alcohol or illegal drugs while at camp or on a camp trip. This will result in immediate dismissal without refund.

FINAL NOTES

• Camp Wise is not responsible for loss or damage to camper’s property.

• Camp Wise is authorized to take campers out of camp on supervised trips and activities.

• Camp Wise may use any photo, slide, video recording, audio recording or likeness of campers for promotional purposes.

• Parents will receive a Parent-Camper Handbook prior to camp with additional information, policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

• Prior to a camper’s arrival, Camp Wise requires full disclosure of all medical and psychological treatments (past and present), a complete medical form signed by a physician, as well as immunization records. Camp Wise reserves the right to postpone or cancel camp attendance for any camper based on their physical or mental health condition. If Camp Wise is unable to serve a camper due to physical or psychosocial challenges, and it is discovered that information was not fully disclosed on medical or camper forms, no refund will be issued for early dismissal.

• Camp Wise requires all standard vaccines as required for school attendance by the Ohio Department of Health.

Additionally, Camp Wise encourages all campers and staff to be fully vaccinated and up to date with the COVID-19 vaccine as determined by the CDC.

• Camp Wise and medical staff are authorized to act on the behalf of a parent or guardian, according to their best judgment.

• If it is determined by the camp staff, that returning home prior to the end of a session, for either physical or mental health treatment, is in the camper’s best interest, camp fees may be refunded on a pro-rated basis.

• If a family chooses to withdraw their camper prior to the end of a session of their own accord, then no refund will be issued.
