F. D. Auction WEST HEBRON Continuing a tradition that’s been going on for almost half a decade, the H e b r o n Volunteer Fire Co. will hold its annual auction this Saturday, Aug. 3. The event, which is in its 4 9 t h year, will offer locals a chance to get rid of old items, purchase something new and support the fire company while doing so. George Flint, recent past chief of the department, said everything from “furniture to whatever” will be up for sale. “There’s always a surprise; we never really know,” he said, adding that the department will accept donations up until the start of the auction at 6 p.m. There will be a raffle of furniture donated by Telescope Causal, as well as several truckloads worth of items from an

estate. Food, such as hamburgers, hotdogs and sausages, will be for sale starting at 4:30 p.m., and the event will take place at the ‘fire field’ at 3165 County Route 30. The department will have a large, 40 by 80-foot tent set up, so the auction will take place rain or shine. “It’s a community evening,” Flint said. For more information or to donate items, barring tires, computers or junk, call Flint at 854-7616, Bruce Stewart at 8549277 or any fire department member (see hebronfireco. com.)
