By Ellen Ricks Get your four-legged friend in form for the Rutland County Humane Society’s 10th annual Dog Dock Diving competition this Sunday, Sept. 17. The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the Palms on Lake Bomoseen. The competition is simple: Just throw a stick into the lake and have your dog race into the water to get it. Judges will measure the jump based on height and length of the jump. There will be prizes for first-, second- and third-place longest jumps in categories from novice to pro. “Some dogs are quick to pick it up,” said Beth Saradarian, associate director at the Humane Society. “Some take a few tries to be able to do it.”
