Manchester – where great minds meet In June we’ll welcome the 58th Annual Conference of the Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group, where experts will come together to discuss the latest developments in oncology and radiotherapy. They’ll also be celebrating the centenary of Ernest Rutherford confirming the discovery of the proton – a Manchester world-first.

Hello and welcome to the 2019 Manchester Conference & Exhibition Guide – the definitive guide to meetings, conferences and events support available across Greater Manchester. You’re reading this at an exciting time for Manchester and the wider North of England. Investment is growing, visitor numbers are rising, and the world is increasingly recognising what the region has to offer. Traditionally, Manchester is associated with the industrial revolution, nightlife and sport, and while these are certainly important to our shared identity, they don’t tell the whole story. As the region develops and our reputation grows, we’re increasingly becoming known for incredible dining, provocative culture and of course, as a comprehensive conferencing destination, famous for our warm welcome. Coming up in 2019 we’ve got some exciting largescale conferences, especially in the life sciences and health innovation sectors. We’ll kick this off in May when we welcome the British Contact Lens Association to Manchester, bringing more than 1,000 delegates from the UK and overseas.

Then in October, Manchester will host the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium & Medical Imaging Conference 2019. Held in Sydney last year, the international event gathers experts in radiation detection instrumentation for use in nuclear science, medical imaging, and space. Turning away from science and healthcare, we’re also delighted to be welcoming the 2019 Conservative Party Conference back to the city in October. Manchester has had many successful years of hosting major political party conferences in the city, and we look forward to repeating that success this year. Of course, please do remember that if you’re looking to organise an event in Manchester, the Manchester Convention Bureau is here to help you. Our team of knowledgeable conference and meeting professionals specialise in event and client support and provide a range of complimentary services, saving you time and money and ensuring your event will run smoothly.
