Up in Smoke... Cigar Review: The Pope of Greenwich Village Smoke Inn is back with another addition to their popular Microblend Series, a collection of cigars that have been custom-blended in small batches by the industry’s leading manufacturers. Created in 2010 as an effort to mimic the quality and “craft” atmosphere that microbreweries have cultivated in the US, Smoke Inn has teamed up with the biggest names in the industry: Tatuaje, Padrón, My Father, Arturo Fuente, Room101, Quesada, Epinosa, Illusione, and now Drew Estate. This is somewhat of a milestone for the series, marking the 10th release. As expected, the cigar has been blended by Willy Herrera, whom Drew Estate named as their Master Blender in 2014. The cigar uses tobaccos very similar to their Undercrown line, with Herrera stating, “This cigar will appeal to fans of our other maduro blends, including Undercrown, Nica Rustica, MUWAT, and Liga Privada.” Upon its announcement, the cigar has been known for its unusual title: The Pope of Greenwich Village (pronounced gren-ich). Sharing the name (and similar design) with the 1984 film based in Greenwich Village, NY, its an area familiar to Drew Estate founders Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel. Much of the Drew Estate culture has been inspired from their hometown of Manhattan.

By Ah, the man cave. It sounds like a deceptively simple concept, but in reality the possibilities for yours are virtually endless. This is the space you go when you want to get away from the world for a quiet interlude, but it’s likely also the place you head when the guys are coming over for a night of who-knows-what and plenty of carousing. Nothing facilitates either of these scenarios better than a man cave bar; you can stock it with all your favorite drinks, it’ll help you stay organized, and it also creates its own unique social zone inside the cave where friends congregate.

Plus, you can also use it to enhance the overall décor theme in your space or use a custom solution that fits a smaller area. If you’re looking into equipping your cave with its own mini tavern, consider some of the following design ideas to help you along in the process.

Planning and Placing If you’re just starting out with your design developments and have the budget to remodel or build your cave, you might want to consider installing a custom-built option that looks like it was meant for your space. If you’re thinking of something that doesn’t stick out too far or claim too much floor space, a wall bar is a great design— your buddies can simply walk up to it and make their own drinks. This type of bar will look similar to a wall in your kitchen for the most part. It can have cabinets below (and mounted on the wall above if you desire extra storage), a sink if you have the plumbing, and a refrigerator that suits the space. You can

Do it Yourself Ideas... Convert an Old TV Into a Fish Tank Have you discovered a dinosaur of a TV set in your attic? You know, the ones with imitation wood and knobs instead of buttons? It sure can't compete with today's flatpanel units, but it doesn't have to head straight for the junk pile -- if you're creative. Among other things, you can convert your old TV into a unique fish tank. Just follow these instructions.

Step 1: Find an old wooden TV console.

Step 2: Open the wooden television console. Console televisions usually have a removable back, but you may have to go in through the side.

Step 3: Remove all electrical components. Be especially careful not to shatter the tube, as the older models can be very dangerous. See Warnings for additional information.

Famous Man Caves... Frederick Douglass’ Office Frederick Douglass was a true self-made man. He escaped from slavery and through hard work and self-education, became a writer, publisher, speaker and fierce abolitionist. With the money he made from writing and speaking, Douglass bought a 14 bedroom house in Washington, D.C. that he called Cedar Hill. His office was lined with over 1,000 books on a wide variety of subjects, and his walls were adorned with portraits of people he admired like Susan B. Anthony and Wendell Phillips. Douglas would spend up to five hours a day reading and writing in his manly study. At his sturdy wooden desk he penned many of his inspiring speeches and his famous autobiography, The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass.

Who was Frederick Douglass? Frederick Douglass has been called the father of the civil rights movement. He rose through determination, brilliance, and eloquence to shape the American nation. He was an abolitionist, human rights and women's rights activist, orator, author, journalist, publisher, and social reformer Committed to freedom, Douglass dedicated his life to achieving justice for all Americans, in particular African-Americans, women, and minority groups. He envisioned America as an inclusive nation strengthened by diversity and free of discrimination.
