A Big Success

Rotary clubs have long been known for their dedication to making a positive difference in their communities. The Rotary Club of Bombay Kandivli (RCBK) is no exception, and th its recent Cancer Screening Camp held on December 4 , 2022 at the Ramakrishna Mission Welfare Centre in Sakwar was a resounding success.

Swami Satyadevanand Ji, Secretary of RK Mission, Khar, graced the event and was very appreciative of various community services done by Rotary. The RCBK team, including Rtn Sunil Chaurasia, Rtn Mahendra Modi, President Rtn Dharmesh Chauhan, and Director Medical PP Rtn Raj Verma, were busy volunteering and coordinating the event. Rtn Dr Dimple Sinha also joined the camp and provided her support.

The camp was conducted by a team of highly experienced doctors, including a Surgeon, Gynecologist, ENT Surgeon, Physician, and Pathologist, from the Medical team of Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA). They conducted examinations and diagnostic tests on 100 people, and three confirmed cases were detected. There are also quite a few suspect cases that will be reviewed based on the report to be received from CPAA.

RCBK's District Avenue Chair for Cancer, Rtn Rakesh Mishra, and PP Rtn Sandip Raut from RC of Boisar-Tarapur also joined the camp. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Rtn Shyam Sharma and Rtn Dr. Dimple Sinha for their donation to carry out such an impactful camp.

The RCBK team, under the guidance of Director Medical PP Rtn Raj Verma, had been meticulously planning the camp for three months, coordinating with RK Mission, CPAA, and the District team. Their efforts resulted in the successful conduct of the camp and served the tribal and underprivileged people of the local community.

The Rotary Club of Bombay Kandivli is committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need, and their Cancer Screening Camp is just one example of their dedication to this cause. We look forward to seeing the positive changes that will continue to result from their ongoing efforts.

We are proud to announce that we donated two high-quality wheelchairs to Holy Family Hospital, costing Rs 7,000 each, totaling Rs 14,000. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Shivali Verma, daughter of Director Medical PP Rtn. Raj Verma, who came forward to donate the amount.

th On December 6 , 2022, Director Medical PP Rtn. Raj Verma formally handed over these wheelchairs to the Executive Director, Dr. Sister Beena of Holy Family Hospital. The Rotary Club of Bombay Kandivli is committed to continuing its efforts to serve the community in any way possible.

We appreciate the opportunity to help such an essential institution that is doing valuable work in serving the community. It is a privilege to be able to contribute to the well-being of those in need, and we will continue to support organizations that are dedicated to making a positive difference.
