Summer Adventure

RiverQuest Summer Camp

Summer camp is one of the most anticipated events of the Flint RiverQuarium’s year. Children come for a week of hands on experience, aquatic activities, animal exploration and crafts. There are four themed weeks this years, so choose the one that applies to your child and join us for ‘Science in Motion.’ June 1-5: Birds of a Feather (ages 7-11) June 8-12: River Rats (ages 7-11) June 15-19: Small Fry (ages 5-6) July 6-10: Wild and Wacky Science (ages 7-11) The cost is around $100 per child and includes a T-shirt and a snack.

Learning Experience

Catfish Planet

Catfish Planet is a hands-on, educational way for children and adults to view the underwater world of catfish. There are 3000 known species of catfish and more to discovery. With catfish making up 34 percent of freshwater fish, a lot can be learned from this whiskered fish. The exhibit was created by the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. Come check it out during normal business hours.

Wildlife Discovery

Discovery Days

Every first and third Sunday of each month is devoted to Discovery Days. Come from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for family fun activities like craft time, animal presentations and story time. Each child will receive a F.U.N. Passport that they can get stamped each time they come. Once they recieve 4 stamps they will win a prize and a F.U.N. certificate. Preschool Wonder

Tadpole Time

Preschoolers are encouraged to come to the RiverQuarium on the third Wednesday of every month for a special morning geared toward them. Bring your child at 10 a.m. and experience a fun morning of learning and excitement.
