It is suggested that a set of aims be established and in light of the greater understanding of floodplain process, that operation of the SISs be reviewed. A key component of assessing the performance of SISs is the collection of accurate baseline data and ongoing monitoring data which may include:
Groundwater levels
Vegetation health data
Saline and fresh groundwater distributions
Aquifer properties such as transmissivity and storage data
Bore properties such as specific capacity.
