Malisa Benjamins Architect / Designer

CV Architecture Portfolio

I am passionate about creating architecture, which engages and brings joy to its users as well as with its surroundings and landscape. I am interested in design, which aims to be sustainable while also celebrating the joy of detail and materiality. \\ Originally from Perth, I completed my Masters of Architecture degree in 2015. My studies enabled me to participate in studios in Athens and then in Spain with RCR Architectes. Following these experience I lived in London, where I worked for two years at Pollard Thomas Edwards Architects, a large practice specialising in housing and community regeneration projects. In 2017 I returned to Australia and moved to Melbourne, where I have worked in both small residential and large multi-disciplinary practices. I am currently working as a Architect at John Wardle Architects, a design focused practise with a reputation for crafting beautiful, crafted and engaging buildings. My experiences have enabled me to work across a range of contexts and project typologies from small private residential alterations and additions and residences to larger education and community orientated projects such as the new Cradle Coast Campus in Tasmania and urban high street redevelopment of the Laindon Centre in Essex, UK. My interest is in practising architecture, which allows engagement with clients, users and the environment to achieve an outcome that will enrich the experiences of the users and the wider context. I believe great architecture should also celebrate the small moments as well as the big ideas.
