Our December Beatitude House Party On Friday, December 23rd Making Kids Count hosted its’ Beatitude House monthly birthday party at Camelot Lanes in Boardman. We wanted a chance to get everyone out of their apartments for some bowling fun. Camelot Lanes was amazing and helped to provide the transportation of the families from their respective locations to and from Boardman. They enjoy two hours of bowling, pizza, pop, and cake. We also provided the mothers with calendars that had pictures that we took throughout the year and the kids received bags filled with goodies! We had such a great time and think that the families did too!

“A Holiday Celebration”

On December 15th, Making Kids Count in coordination with Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley and Project Ed Bear hosted “A Holiday Celebration” at the Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman. Patients in the Blood and Cancer Center along with their families were invited to a dinner and night of fun! Project Ed Bear graciously funded the dinner and some of the entertainment. Making Kids Count was responsible fo r e ve r y t h i n g e l s e . We

provided the centerpieces, favor bags, favor ornaments, craft stations for the kids to participate in, a photo booth, and a box of cookies for each family to take home. The craft stations included: decorating their own santa hats, making a holiday greeting card, making reindeer food, making a take home hot chocolate packet, making holiday print flower headbands, and a coloring station.

In addition to the craf t stations there was also a DJ and the ROCcK choir from Akron Children’s Hospital performed for everyone’s entertainment. All of the patients received a gift card and all of the siblings received a small gift to take home in addition to all of the crafts they made. Everyone seemed to have a g r e a t t i m e a n d we l o o k forward to making this an annual event!
