Powers and Nesta bring experience, respect to martial arts instruction ongtime friends Sensei Bill Powers (shown in photo left) and Shihan Joe Nesta (right) have brought their nearly 90 years of combined martial arts experience to each of the thousands of students that they’ve instructed, and the results show. More than fighting, Powers and Nesta believe that the martial arts are meant to teach “discipline, the art, a positive attitude, confidence, and selfesteem.� “Our teaching method focuses on defeating your opponent with your mind,� said Nesta. “You have to learn how to defeat someone without

Malden residents to receive preference for jobs at Wynn Boston Harbor he City of Malden and Malden Redevelopment Authority will host a jobs fair on Tuesday, June 27 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Oppa’s Kitchen & Bar, which is located at 157 Pleasant St. The event will highlight job opportunities soon to be available at the Wynn Boston Harbor resort casino in Everett. Representatives from Wynn Boston Harbor will be on hand to discuss the types of employment opportunities, when jobs will be available and how

Powers has operated Nick Cerio’s Kenpo in Everett at 453 Broadway for 25 years.
