Retail & Leisure Portfolio Overview

GROUP

Hello from Shaylor Firstly, we would like to introduce our Retail and Leisure Portfolio Overview. It is part of the successful Shaylor Group’s corporate delivery capability. We’ve recently been fulfilling projects for some of the UK’s leading brands and we thought it was about time to let you know what we’ve been working on. We’ve kept it brief because we know your time is precious and to be frank we’re sure you would rather have a conversation than a lengthy presentation from us. We’ve included a little on our approach, our work and the group and if you need anything else we’ve provided our contact details so you can ask the questions that really matter.

The Shaylor Approach Collaborative

Right first time, every time

Innovative

Shaylor understands that by working in collaboration with our clients we achieve the best results.

Shaylor endeavour to deliver every project with zero defects.

Shaylor meet the objectives of the Governments Investment Framework for ‘Achieving Excellence’ in design.

By understanding our client’s vision from day one we can deliver projects successfully in a single location or on a national roll-out basis, often ahead of time and budget.

By continually improving our systems, processes and lines of client communication our projects are right first time so our clients can concentrate on their business.

We do so by utilising our experience in meeting the standards required under BREEAM 2008 which focuses on improving the efficiency of the construction industry.

We have demonstrated this through our work with Royal Mail on the Crown Office Refurbishment Programme (CORP) and we have provided details in the Our Work section.

Crown Office Refurbishment Programme Client: Royal Mail Value: £5.8 million Duration: 9 months The refurbishment of 108 Post Office branches in London and the South East to provide ‘new look and feel’ facilities in a modern banking style. Works were performed outside of normal working hours with branches fully operational during the day. Awarded as part of a framework agreement, Shaylor assembled a dedicated project team and supply chain to deliver the projects and drive continuous improvement. It also integrated with Royal Mail specialist suppliers to overcome the challenges associated with fast-track refurbishment, establishing an offsite logistics warehouse to stock long delivery items. Works comprised strip out, minor mechanical and electrical installations, counter upgrades, new financial services fittings, flooring, signage and point of sale equipment. Due to the high level of risk attached to working alongside live environments in use by both Royal Mail staff and the public, visual displays were used extensively to advise works in progress, updated daily, and full liaison was maintained each day with Post Office Managers. A full complaints procedure was established, but it was to the credit of the entire team that only one complaint was recorded across all 108 branches, which was attended to within one hour of notification. • 100% of projects handed over on time and on budget • 24% reduction in programme periods across the framework, through adoption of lean principles • No reportable accidents across the entire framework • 15% average reduction in project costs • Winner of Forum for Constructing Excellence Supply Chain Award 2009 • KPI performance improved across the roll out.
