Equality Diversity & Inclusion
How FSquared can help you. You will already have a vision and strategic objectives around equality, diversity and inclusion. FSquared can help you to articulate this vision to wider stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, which will in turn help you to achieve your strategic objectives. In particular we can support you to get the most out of your private sector partners and ensure that they add value and bring wider benefits for your communities. We will help you to realise your vision and to make a real difference to the communities in and with which you work. We are proud of our work in this area and are excited about the possibility of supporting more public sector partners. The steps we take our public sector partners through are listed along with an example of our previous work on the back of this card. >
Here’s how... The FSquared approach: We work with you to: Understand your vision & objectives We will listen to what is really important to you and your locality.
Integrate good & best practice We will contribute to your already strong understanding of equality & diversity by talking to you about our experiences elsewhere.
Respond to strategic policy drivers We will help you to ensure that you are up to date with the Equalities Bill and the Equal Life Chances for All agenda.
Identify & engage relevant stakeholders Together we will identify and engage all the stakeholders that you need to engage with you to achieve your vision and strategic objectives: public and private sector, internal and external.
Communicate & get buy in from stakeholders We will help you develop tools that ensure that your stakeholders understand and are committed to achieving your strategic objectives around equality & diversity.
Keep it alive We will put in place measures to help you to monitor progress towards achieving your strategic objectives. We’ll also be on hand to help you to keep things alive as and when you need further support.
Case Study: Project: Three Cities Construction Initiative Client: Derby City Council, Leicester City Council
and Nottingham City Council
We developed the Three Cities Sustainable Construction Initiative in late 2008. The initiative can be used by public sector bodies in the East Midlands to secure and measure a range of sustainable outcomes from construction companies. We undertook this project with a great deal of enthusiasm to encourage improvement in the construction industry’s performance in employment and training, equality, diversity & inclusion and sustainability. We recognised that this would be a challenging project, particularly in the current economic climate. However, whilst activity levels ease off in the commercial sector, it was the perfect moment for the public sector to consider and embed a fresh approach and make the most of its potential influence upon the construction sector. The responsibility of the implementation of the initiative has now been passed to the three local authorities and we will be on hand to offer advice and support where necessary.
