Human rights and peace issues have always been my number one priority, in addition to official medical curriculum. Why are human rights strongly bound to my soul? In my belief, human rights are equality, dignity, justice, freedom and the foundation for peace. With endless numbers of people being affected by human rights and peace violations, immediate steps must be taken by individuals and international community to save people’s lives. We all realize that urgent action is needed and that as individuals we need the mandate and support of the decision making bodies to succeed. Therefore we understand, that the push has to come from the decision making bodies, which emphasizes the importance of advocacy, policy change and its implementation to make the world safer and better place for everyone.
My name is Marián Sedlák and it is my utmost pleasure to present my candidature for the position of Liaison Officer for Human Rights & Peace issues for the term 2016/2017.
