ABOUT ME


Maitreyee is a young designer who has been in the field of architecture for 7 years and she has been pursuing architectural education internationally for over two years, with the love for travelling and professional experience. She graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with Masters of Architecture with sustainability concetration and working towards her licensure, while improving and refining her design skills, critical thinking, theoretical knowledge and portfolio. Her experience in team work is short but remarkable, with her internship with PBK Architects for 4 months allowed the development of a broad knowledge of softwares and general/emergent traits related to the contemporary design and production of architecture. For her architecture is all about nurturing nature. She believes in sustaining the resources that the earth has given us, which gives vision to her thoughts and work. She is a people centric person and she like to accommodate human needs while balancing her ideals of aesthetics and her love for nature. This portfolio comprises the process of her enlightment and challenge that she keeps promoting to create a new type of architecture based on the empiricism.

Studying the need of makerspace and coworking space. Laying out the required program on exisitng makerspace. Designing a space with focus on healthy, productive and creative space. Makerspace is a community operated physical spaces where people come with common interests, often in computers, machine, technology, science, digital art or electronic art, can meet and work on their project and learn from each other, socialize and collaborate. Co-Working space involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. It is attractive to work at home professionals, independent contractors and people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation. New Mumbai is a planned township on the west shore of Maharashtra state and was mooted in 1971 to be another urban township of Mumbai by the Government of Maharashtra.

We were supposed to redesign a 25years old house prototype with sustainable affordable house. My role was to participate in conceptual stage and giving various options. MULTI FAMILY HOUSING Hemisfair Park, San Antonio, TX M.ARCH 2 - 1st Sem Year: Fall 2016 Instructor: Prof. Edward Burian Project Brief: We were supposed to design a Mixeduse housing tower with amenities like restaurant, by-cycle shop, garden space for the San Antonio tourist. My concept of design was to gain natural light, ventilation and outdoor view for each house of the tower for engaging the residents to the surroundings.

Bhavik Mehta Project Summary: The concept was to design a healthy and environment friendly houses. Goal of the design was to reduce direct sun glare, reduce heat gain, provide natural lighting and natural wind circulation with the help of passive strategies and material study. As a result of climate analysis April to August are the critical months for heat gain. And 11 AM to 4 PM is critical daytime. Following are the Altitude and Azimuth angle for critical months and time For vertical shading, Azimuth range considered : 16 - 53 For horizontal shading, Altitude range considered : 22 - 70 Based on study of heliodone 15 degree to north is preferable orientation for reducing direct sun glare and providing shadow to building itself. City of Ahmedabad is a commercial capital of Gujarat state. It is in the running race to become one of the metro city of India. The need of middle income group housing has been increased. As per the studies of Central Electricity Authority-2013, India's domestic energy consumption has 22% of total current electrical consumption. And energy consumption from residential buildings is predicted to rise by more the four time by 2030. Thus, the focus was given to design a middle-income group housing.

Ahmedabad, India B.Arch- 8th Sem Year: Spring 2015 Instructor: Prof. Jaydeep Bhagat Project Brief: REVITALIZATION OF SPACE AND PUBLIC EDGES IN AND AROUND THE MONUMENTS TO PRESERVE THE HERITAGE OF MANEK CHOWK. Manek chowk , is one of the most successful urban nodes thriving with activities even in contemporary times. The square has been strategically located along the axis of the Bhadra citadel, Teen Darwaza and Jami- Mosque. The open square provides a foreground to the historic tombs of King's Ahmed Shah on the west and the Queen's tomb on the east. Manek Chowk is a transitional place, where different activities are take place in different time without disturbing one another. Its a place where people come to shop, trade, business , worship , enjoy etc. Project was divided in three parts. 1st to evaluate and design the manekchowk precinct, 2nd to proposed a design for cultural park in center of the junction and 3rd was propose a redevelopment layout for heritage vegetable market.

Jaydeep Bhagat Firm: Open Spaces Design Studio My Role: Preparing Conceptual, Presentation and Consruction drawings for 1st stage, Designing Coumpoundwall, Rendering Photoshop, Making Physical Model, Dealing with Aluminum and GreenWall Consultant Project Brief: This was a 20 storey High-End Residential building with a required concept of MIND, BODY and SOUL to utilise the concept we went with an idea to protect the living conditions in the apartments, an external skin consisting of movable facade elements like perforated treated stone panels, THE MIND create a sense of stillness and tranquillity by shimmering effects of light while green wall creates energy to revitalize THE SOUL and Stone grit facade, THE BODY protects building from external environment creating elegant texture creates to a gather a better living space.

Jaydeep Bhagat Firm: Open Spaces Design Studio My Role: Preparing Conceptual and Presentation drawings Project Brief : This is the proposal for Residence located in Rajasthan, India. The challenge was to consider the climatic effect with keeping in mind vastu shastra. The concept was to have Open to Sky Space facing North direction to get maximum natural light and to have perforated stone panel on the West facade to block the direct sun glare and welcome the wind with the means of perforations.
