This program is intended for English speakers that wish to learn limited amounts of everyday Spanish. You will learn everyday phrases so you may be friendly and helpful to citizens in public settings. Understand common responses and greetings. Material is presented in two formats: 1) what an English speaker would say,and 2) what and English speaker my hear in response. In addition we to the language session we will explore a cross-cultural section discussing areas of difference between Latinos and non-Latinos. An 84 page manual with various glossaries (foods, colors, occupations, places, family relationships, telling time, dates and the alphabet) and two audio CD’s are included. Program Objectives This program is intended for all non-Spanish-speaking persons. Upon completion, you will be able to use Spanish to say a few words or phrases of kindness or respect to Spanish-speakers you may meet in shopping malls, supermarkets, school meetings, parks, churches, and other public places; help Spanish-speakers who need emergency assistance; and much more. This course may be tailored to a group’s needs and interests. Its flexible format allows it to be given in a variety of configurations and for variable hours. A similar manual, Inglés Mínimo / Minimum English,for groups of Spanish-speakers wishing to learn analogous English phrases and cross-cultural insights. Other Programs Available:
