MAILEZY MONTHLY Edition 15 - November 2011

We’re on the Move

After a positive couple of years, Mailezy has reinforced its confidence in the business community by expanding its operations into larger premises nearly triple its existing business footprint come the end of November/early December. “This move will be the realisation of part of our strategic plan which will confirm Mailezy as a market leader within the QLD market”, Nathan Koina says, “In what has been a couple of tough years for most businesses, we have managed to progress our business so we can offer first class products and services at a pricing structure that meets the broader economic environment.” An official opening will happen in the not too distant future, however at any stage feel free to call by for a coffee, chat and a bo peep! Otherwise if you can please update your records to reflect our new address as 1/12 Newspaper Place, Maroochydore 4558.

Emma’s Editorial What’s this funny box? Have you noticed these funny looking boxes more and more around lately? Have you wondered what they are? They are called QR Codes. Essentially they are a form of barcode that almost any smart phone can read or scan. QR Codes usually act as a link to a website and therefore acts as a diverter of traffic or enquiry to a particular website. Have a try. Using your smart phone, download a code scanning app and scan this QR code and watch as you are taken to our website where you can peruse all our goods and services as well as our latest specials. Keep Smiling Emma Hope

From Behind the Desk November is the start of the festive season and this brings about numerous Christmas Parties. I’d like to take this opportunity to advise that Mailezy will be closing for the Xmas/ New Year break. Our last day of trade will be 23rd December and we will be back on deck, firing on all cylinders on Monday January 9th, 2012. If you have any work you think you may need done around that time please contact myself or Emma by phone or email and we’ll be happy to help you. I hope this finds you well and your business prosperous. Until next month, Nathan.

Steve’s Section Don’t be Fooled by Impersonators There are an increasing number of businesses claiming to be ‘mail houses’. Frankly, anyone can purchase barcoding software from the internet for as little as a thousand dollars a year. However most don’t realise this is only one piece of the Australia Post puzzle... I mean system. Just because I can buy a hammer from Bunnings doesn’t make me a builder with the appropriate licenses, insurances, tools or know how, to complete any and all building works. Well it’s the same with mailing. Australia Post have an accreditation system called the “Bulk Mail Partner” (BMP) program. It is open to any business to apply for accreditation, however in Qld at present there are only nine BMP’s – one of which is Australia Post themselves. Put simply it is a very rigorous process that ensures only the very best businesses receive the BMP status. All BMP’s are considered by Australia Post as a ‘partner’ and therefore they monitor and score each BMP every month with zero being the highest rating based on mail lodgements throughout the month. Mailezy is consistently scored as one of the highest scoring BMP’s in Australia with consistent monthly scores of zero. The possibilities of an error occurring by not using a BMP can be endless. Even if one component of your mailing doesn’t meet Australia Post requirements they are entitled to not give you any discounts on your mailing and charge you full postage rate. Here’s a little known fact. If the barcode on your mail piece is skewed more than 5% either way it is not a correct lodgement and therefore you can be charged at full rate postage. Does a non BMP have the processes and tools to check this? Short answer “No”. Rest assured at Mailezy we have Australia Post approved quality assurance processes in place – no less than 37 – yes 37, for every lodgement – so your mail is lodged correctly every time and you receive the maximum postage discounts you are entitled to.
