Next time? THIS YEAR, THE UTRECHT BRANCH OF BUNK HOTELS WAS AWARDED A PRESTIGIOUS HOSCAR, THE OSCARS FOR THE HOSTEL WORLD. THIS FORMER CHURCH OFFERS THE COMFORT OF A HOTEL FOR THE PRICE OF A HOSTEL.
The impressive church organ, the wall of pews and the balustrade: there’s no escaping the fact that this is a place where church services used to be held. You could best describe BUNK Hotels as a cross between a hotel and a hostel. It’s not just a place to spend a night in one of the rooms or pods; it’s also a place where you can chill, work, and meet each other or locals. There’s always something cultural going on in the evenings, from lectures, films and poetry to cabaret, exhibitions and live music by local artists. These events are organised by the hotel's own Liberales Foundation and paid for out of the profits.
