Kate and Ranko met through mutual friends - Ranko had seen Kate’s picture and thought she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen. Kate, on the other hand, had no time at all for Ranko, dismissing him as arrogant and rude! Fortunately, this did not last and they went on to fall in love and get married at Waiheke Island’s spectacular Mudbrick Vineyard. Kate and Ranko chose Mudbrick because it offered everything they were looking for: good food, good wine, and good service, as well as being a visually stunning location. Ranko describes their wedding style as ‘rustic romance’, which Kate agrees with as many of their details harked back to days gone by - the lace of Kate’s dress, Ranko’s bow tie, and the twine that they tied to the church pews.
