Lee completed an MA at the Royal College of Art in 2004 and has since exhibited widely and completed residencies in both the UK and Canada. She produces paintings, drawings and collages that ooze, literally, with a tangible and tactile physicality. Thick trails of paint, scatological and intestinal in effect, challenge the viewer to take a new approach to pieces which otherwise suggest classical paintings and sculptures. For Lee her works ‘slips between decay and revival, where disgust and seduction intertwine through a revelling in squeamishness.’ http://www.mindylee.co.uk Above Johns’ overfaced (Dolci) 2011.
