WHAT IS BUBBLE AND HOW DOES IT WORK? bubble is an on-demand babysitting app that allows parents to regain some flexibility back into their lives. The app, which lets parents pay online, uses social and community data to connect parents to babysitters their friends have used and lets them read reviews left by other mums and dads; it works a little like LinkedIn. When parents are looking for childcare they put out a request for a sitter using the express book service, which typically sees responses in around 43 seconds. Sitters within the local area are alerted and have the option to bid for the sit. Parents can then browse the profiles of the available sitters and select the sitter of their choice. bubble also has a messaging channel on the app so that both the parents and babysitters can remain in contact. Parents pay a £3.50 booking fee and no other additional charges. WHY USE BUBBLE? Ultimately bubble provides families flexibility, allowing parents to continue with their day-to-day lives by making it quick and easy to find trusted and recommended childcare. Parents book sitters for all sorts of reasons - a lie in on a Sunday morning, a trip to the cinema, or, even if they’ve gone into labour! Sitters on bubble range from students, teachers and nannies.
