DESIGN BUILD- SHIFT APRIL 2017

PROJECT STATEMENT DESIGN AND BUILD A PLAY SEATING STRUCTURE FOR A CLIENT IN AMES WITH ALL SECOND YEAR ARCHITECTURE STUDIOS CONCEPT DESIGNED AND BUILT A STRUCTURE WITH 90 STUDENTS OUT OF TWO BY FOURS ON A SITE IN AMES FOR A LOCAL ART COLLABORATION. THE STRUCTURE CAN BE USED FOR PLAY OR FOR CONVERSATION THERE ARE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR SPACES. THE INTERIOR SPACES ARE LIT UP AT NIGHT BY SOLAR PANELS. PROJECT 1 STATEMENT SELECT A SPECIFIC ELEMENT ABOUT A STUDIED PLANT AND REDESIGN IT TO OPTIMIZE IT FOR ITS ECOLOGICAL LANDSCAPE. IMAGINE A FUTURE SCENARIO OF THIS PARTICULAR PART OF THE PLANT AND HOW IT MIGHT ADAPT (EVOLVE) IN THE FUTURE IN RESPONSE TO IT’S ENVIRONMENT AND OR OTHER OBJECTS IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH. CONCEPT THERMAL BIMETAL SHADING DEVICE BASED ON QUEEN ANNE’S LACE QUEEN ANNE’S LACE AND AXON OF SHADING DEVICE- ABOVE PROJECT 2 STATEMENT STUDY AND ANALYZE SITE CONDITIONS REVEALING ISOLATED SITE FORCES AS SIGNIFICANT IMPACTFUL ACTANTS. A MAPPING OF ECOLOGICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL, BIOLOGICAL, GEOLOGICAL, GEOGRAPHICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND OTHER FACTORS AS EXTRACTED ISOLATED SEPARATE LAYERS OF INFORMATION. CONCEPT A RESEARCH CENTER IN WHICH THE SHAPE IS AND PROGRAM IS BASED OFF OF THE TOPOGRAPHY AND VEGETATION ON SITE AND THE SKIN OF THE BUILDING IS AN ALTERED FORM OF THE PREVIOUSLY DESIGNED SHADING DEVICE THAT CAN BE PINCHED AND PULLED TO CREATE VARYING SIZES IN THE PATTERN SKIN FORM FINDING PROCESS WORK- TOP LEFT PLAN FINDING PROCESS WORK- LEFT EXPERIMENTATION WITH SKIN AND SHAPE- LEFT
